Ya it is a Bollywood film, if you like love stories go and watch it, but if you want to watch legendary Bollywood love stories, watch DDLJ(Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge), or Pyaasa...

why idiotic?

Because SRK films are becoming too much monotonous this days, there was an era when his films were legendary, this film is nowhere near it, and it just uses 'typical Bollywood formula', that's why...hmm

I did watch all SRK movies yea i know its not as good as DDLJ but it is a fun movie to watch.. urm or it is just me?

It is one of the milestones, a great film by a great artist...I highly recommend you to watch it...Gurudatt was director of that film...

It was ok for me. Not as great as SRKs other movies. I don't like the chemistry between the two leads. Their chemistry in their first movie Om Shanti Om was better.

Because he already did it once or believed to have done it. Gurudatt was a lot more talented and renowned actor/producer and director. Shahrukh is loud and hams a lot of times.

Pyaasa is an old time classic, about a very talented poet who got no recognition during his life time. After his death in extreme poverty same people who mocked him or ignored his talent publish his work, making profits on it and lavishing praise on him. It turned out he was not really dead and it was a misunderstanding when he suddenly turns up during the celebrations of his success. However not many recognize him, or feign to not to. He also doesn't want to be part of such a crowd and disappears never to be found again.

Apart for Pyaasa, Kagaz ke phool and Sahab Bibi aur Gulam are his most famous and appreciated work.

PS: Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool are included among the greatest films of all time, by Time magazine's "All-TIME" 100 best movies.

OT: I had a good time with Chennai Express. Forget the story - it's great Eid family outing experience. Atleast, better than most of Salman's other releases in recent years. It was a Rohit Shetty movie - those who expected a soulful deep classic must be completely delusional.
