Ok, I see people really dislike the idea of Ben Affleck portraying Batman in the Man of Steel Sequel. I can understand why, after the Dark Knight franchise we just cant imagine anyone else besides Christian Bale as the cape crusader, not to mention Ben's history with bad films, although he's made up for them with films like Argo and The Town(genius). Its also scary to think of another A-lister taking on the weight of this role since so many have tried and failed epiclly, but I would like to remind you all that although Christian Bell was an amazing batman, he is only responsible for maybe 40% of the films genius IMO, the rest goes to Christopher Nolan. With Films such as Memento, Inception etc etc Nolan has become one of Hollywood's go to Directors. So with that being said, it leaves one to wonder what if George Clooney, Val Kilmer would have had a director who approached the film the right way? Would they have been more successful? They are good actors after all, Cloony's track record speaks for it self, Val has some what fell off, but that doesn't mean he isn't a good actor, this is just the ways of Hollywood, not so long ago Robert Downey Jr. was a junkie and a joke.

Nolan only had one Great Batman movie and that was thanks to Heath(Who most fans cried about getting a spot in the franchise yelling about how he would "ruin" it) Christian Bale was a good Wayne but an ok Batman at best. He had one of the worst Batman voices in film history, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer did the Batman/Wayne voice difference better. Nolan's Batman was hardly a martial artist and nearly not a detective. I hope the next Batman movie(not this one sense this is technically a Superman movie) has the Riddler so we can see the cerebral side to Batman again(without Jim Carrey in a spandex body suit and a super flat-top) The Riddler in his bowler and jacket with his cane that's the riddler, putting hostages in life and death situations that Batman has to solve.

the riddler is going to be in the next one I think. and that is exactly what I was hoping for.
He can create these beautiful plot twists in a movie which would be incredible and also make you think.
kinda like Death Note.

also Bale was the Best Bruce Wayne and one of the worst Batman. There aren't many ways you could screw up Batman .
All they had to do was change that ridiculous voice and make Batman use Martial Arts a whole lot better.
Batman was a boring @$$ fighter in the recent trilogy. ugh.. u_u

If I could rep you I would, I knew there was a reason you're one of my favorite people here, I absolutely agree about Bale's martial arts ability in the newer movies but I also put most of that blame on Nolan as the director he should have been noticing stuff like that, but in Nolan's defense(kind of) I don't think he's really a batman fan or has that great of knowledge about Batman. Seriously is it that hard to get a head kick out of Batman even just one? I get that they want a "name" as Batman to draw audience members but when you have a character behind a mask never is there a better time for a stuntman, just let Bale do the voice over and put a real martial artist in the suit for filming.

I'm pretty sure i read the same thing about the riddler some where on yahoo.
I seriously don't care who plays Batman. If people are this stuck up about what actor is in a movie, then they need to reconsider how they live their life.
This, they act as if they want to burn the guy at the stake. hmm
Christian Bale was one of the worst Batman's there was.
If it wasn't for Christian Bale, we wouldn't even be having this conversation, dont get carried away with yourself.

I like Depp but I don't think he should play the Riddler. Ever since Jack Sparrow happened all his roles have a touch of Jack in them and the Riddler does not need any bit of Jack Sparrow mannerisms.

Timberlake shouldn't be considered either unless he's been hiding some acting gold in his sleeves. He's an ok comedy guy now but I don't see him being able to pull off the Riddlers' dimentia and delusion of grandeur.

I've heard people say Casey Affleck which would be interesting especially if Ben stays as batman through the Superman movie and into the batman franchise. I wouldn't rule out Jesse Eisenberg as he's getting more and more of a name now with movies like Zombieland and Now you see me, I think he could do alright, I definitely see a comic role of some sort in his future. I heard David Tennant's name being thrown around and he definitely looks the part plus he's said he'd be eager to take on the role if offered and usually the ones who want the role are better than the ones who want the publicity from the role.

I disagree about the jack sparrow thing, he has always acted that way since Edward SH, but i agree with everything else, and david Tennant was good in Fright Night and Harry Potter as well as Dr. Who. but maybe Ralph Fiennes would do a better job, his voldemort portrayal was dead on, not to mention voldemort also had delusional of grandeur which Ralph brought to life quite vividly.

It's just my opinion but Depp has used the Jack Sparrow voice a lot since he started playing that role. There's a line or two in his characters now that always sound to me like he slipped into Jack Sparrow voice. I loved his role in Secret Window. It might just be my perception but now when I see Johnny Depp in a role I see a little Jack Sparrow in his characters, even Tonto.
