It may be outdated and though some may argue that there are some minor discrepancies; it is a good source of information, giving things such as character profiles and superior detailing on jutsu as well as the workings behind them as opposed to what little is relayed in the Manga...vital segments of any debate. ​

the databook is a secondary source of info with the manga being the primary source also the problem with the databook is that it stops being relevant after sasuke vs itachi as the info is outdated for the databook to be relevant kishi needs to release an updated copy

I just pointed out that it cannot be used this way "Neji tai 4.5 / Kakashi tai 4.5 / Kakuzu tai 4.5 = both Neji and Kakashi are better than Kakuzu in taijutsu"

You're also forgetting these reflect base abilities... So Hiruzen without using speed enhancements (chakra speed) is equal to Sakura.

Kakashi in a base form may be better than Kakuzu.


But they neglect two things: Enhancements and Experience.


With experience, Hiruzen knows the proper ways to enhance his speed. Tsunade knows more efficient ways to maintain her stamina, Kakuzu has far more experienci and enhances his Taijutsu with tendrils in combat... Ultimately leading to his far superior Taijutsu proficiency.

Well of course, the Databook does have it's inaccurate moments, just like the Manga does. In both cases however, feats outclass hype, so points like these are shown to be untrue.

Databook is legit at many times; but certain things can not be based off strictly on stats.

For ex. Hinata has 3,5 in intelligence; yet she has almost no feats at intelligence department as far as battle goes (different if you think thinking about crush as motivation in battle is a part of intelligence) and at this field; she is inferior to likes of Ino or Neji who seemingly have lower stats.

Or speed/taijutsu is the most misunderstood one; somehow these two bouts are got into each other; infact it went in a level that make most people think person with higher speed stat would somehow defeat someone with lower speed stat and higher taijutsu stat in cqc by "speed blitzing"; which is hardly the case in a taijutsu fight.

Technically Choji and Ino COULD have died but Kishimoto is the biggest pansy when it comes to killing off his characters. If anything with Kakuzu's shown abilities, age and experience those two should be dead, Shikamaru and Kakashi should have been left extremely f*cked up, Hidan could have died there but seriously Kishimoto was on bath salts while writing that arc.

For the love of god use your brain man, you can tell Kishimoto rushes his story due to time restraints, Kakuzus arsenal was insane and he was 90+ and lived against an alive Hashirama, he got trolled.
