Why is Hidan so hated?

I don't hate any character. I dislike him cause of his personality, ticks me off. And he is clearly the weakest Akatsuki member too .-.

He couldn't even hit Kakashi. As for your point about being on defensive, it's necessary. Everyone knows in 1 vs. 1 Kakashi would solo. I don't feel like/dislike for Hidan, he's just...meh.

Why people probably dislike him:

1) He's a one trick pony.
2) In terms of fighting skills, he's pretty bland.
3) He can be annoying.
4) He killed Asuma.
5) He is stupid and the dumbest in Akatsuki. He acts like Part 1 Naruto - Big headed but stupidity is often pointed out.
