Well I think that if we rule out the third kazekage (not sure if you mean as one of Sasori's puppets, or him has a shinobi) then I think Gaara has the edge. Without the 3rd Kazekage and iron sand all Sasori has are his poisonous puppets and I don't see how these are going to hit Gaara through his ultimate defense.

If we give Sasori the 3rd Kazekage as a puppet then I think he would win. Logically speaking Iron Sand > Sand.

If we are counting the 3rd Kazekage as a shinobi than he would be the strongest to come out of the sand as it has been said he was the strongest of all the kazekages.

from sand...yes till now cz the puppets he had was awesome, the poison thing adds the awesomeness.the number of puppets he controlled during the chiyo battle was freaking high level technique,,,,, and the way he made himself a puppet showed that he was a true puppet Master that's why he's called "Sasori of the red sand".buttt Gaara is growing up too and he may be more stronger in future.And Another case,,,,, abt Kankuro is also following the path of sasori as he seems to hav sasori's puppets now....Althought i think Kankuro is nowhere near Sasori but u never knw!!!
