Is Ulquiorra dead?

This is something I have been wondering for a while. As he was fading away he tells Ichigo to kill him or else it would never be over. Ichigo then goes all soft and declines Ulquiorra's invitation. We all saw Ulquiorra fade away, but this is why I don't think he is dead. As he starts to fade away he says something to the affect that "his time is up". You could interpret this two ways. Either he is dying because of the injuries Ichigo gave him, or his second release has a time limit. I personally believe it was the later because if he was actually dying, he wouldn't need to ask Ichigo to kill him.

First of all on this page Ulquiorra admits he is severely wounded. But nowhere does he say he wounds are life threatening. After this point there are no more injuries suffered by him.

Thats the image where Ulquiorra is first starting to disappear. He simply says, Hmph, thats it for me. Not so much like hes dying as it is hes disappointed he can't continue.

One the following page Ulquiorra says "Kill me." and "I don't have the strength to walk." and "If you don't kill me now, it will never be over." Nowhere does he ever say that he is dying. Him telling Ichigo to kill him or else it will never be over is basically him saying, "I'm not dying, but you won so I don't deserve to live." And then he simply "Disappears".

In the real world, yes, but this is bleach. I'm pretty sure when someone gets a hole blown through their chest, or their entire side ripped off, or sliced 100 times with a sword, or frozen in a mountain of ice, or hit with a giant lame ass missile, they should die. But none of those people died.

Yes , this is Bleach , and it's Ulquiorra . I was thinking the same , I mean if he's alive or what ,because last words were forcing to think that it's not "over" .

I would really love to see him alive =P In the end he was...lol , it even looked that they are friends O_O xD It would be nice to see them fight again =) In a fair fight...not some Ichigo-superman =\

I'm crossing my fingers to see Ulqy alive. Afterall , he is/was my fav Espada =(

I'm really hoping he isn't dead, because in Bleach when you fade to dust, it probably mean you'll come back more powerful than you were originally. I'd rather have Grimmjow back, though.

The only questions I have for if Ulquiorra is still alive is why? And how can Kubo reintroduce him?

He was the first Espada to understand human and shinigami, feelings, and other shit and he died... you guys have to live with it lol.

When hollow dies he turns into dust, I think it was shown to use many times in both anime and manga. It becomes a spirit particle that forms soul society and I guess it mentioned many times.

But then why not make it clear that he actually died? Why have the whole "kill me or else it will never be over" part? I think Kubo left it ambiguous just in case he has an idea in the future for bringing him back

Maybe your just over thinking it, in my eyes, what ulqi said was another test/observation, to see if ichigo had mercy, i've never seen a hollow turn to dust, and then come back to life.

It was either kill Ichigo or kill(/make disappear/turn to dust or whaterver) Ulquiorra. And somehow i don't think Tite is gonna make the main character die

I'm pretty sure Ulquiorra is dead. I mean Tite did that thing he does when an important Espada dies. You know when they have a flashback or they finally understand something before they die.
