Lightning=lightning. We've never heard anything alluding to 1 force of the same nature damaging or impacting the same force. Lightning shield absorbs Kirin and Kakashi learns it.

Lightning Blade cuts natural lightning, Kirin is natural lightning.

Kirins just faster and bigger, making it more destructive. If it were smaller maybe the same size as lightning blade, it wouldn't be as strong as lightning blade. If that makes sense.
