Let's see the stats of Nagato and Itachi.

Stamina: Nagato has much more stamina than Itachi, being able to use major attacks and still not bleed like Itachi.

Taijutsu: I'm going to say that Itachi wins this, we have seen Itachi use this ability more than Nagato and has been more successful with it.

Ninjutsu: Nagato has much more Jutsus than Itachi definitely. If Itachi uses Totsuka blade Nagato will just absorb it, same goes with Itachi's other techniques.

Dojutsu: It has been shown that Nagato has no counter to Genjutsu. However his Rinnegan abilities allow him to do catastrophic damage such as Chibaku Tensei and Shinra Tensei. How does Nagato counter Amaterasu? He absorbs it like a regular fire technique. If Nagato gets trapped in Genjutsu, he loses. If Nagato can somehow avoid the Genjutsu, he wins. But he won't be avoiding the Genjutsu if Itachi can easily point to him and fodderize him. Itachi wins this one.

Intelligence: It has been shown that the only strategic ability is his six paths, he hides behind his Chess pieces and simply guides them. However this match-up is Healthy Nagato VS Itachi, not Nagato VS Itachi. Itachi has shown to have more intelligence relative to Nagato. Itachi has been shown to be ****ytical and perceptive, being able to deduce the inner workings and weaknesses of powerful techniques, even while under pressure.

Itachi: 3
Healthy Nagato: 2

Itachi beats Healthy Nagato high-difficulty.

Foolish little Woodson; Itachi can't win.

Except he can indeed win. It's honestly hilarious how people say animal path will be a challenge when amaterasu has been shown to completely immobile them[ ][ ]. Notice how the rinnegan dog did not even regenerate. Don't even bring up nagato using Shinrei tensei on the summons to get of the amaterasu because it simply won't work. If anything it will simply spread the flames out more.

It's 11:30 pm current where I am, not really up for a debate. If this thread is still up in the morning then ill be more than glad to post my reasoning.

Edit - Itachi finishes this with a tysukuyomi IMO.

Ill let you believe that. Itachi takes this. And I am fully capable of explaining why. U_U

Uh uhh! Itachi has an extremely low shot at victory here. Like, really low. To the poor where it's easier to say Nagato never loses then to go through the perfect storm scenario that would allow Itachi to pull off a win.

Itachi has no counter for Chibaku Tensei and is easily outlasted should Nagato decide to go on an all out Ninjutsu assault. Mid difficulty for Nagato at the most.

I think Itachi will be too busy with summons to Tsukuyomi Nagato.

10:30 here.

Is this healthy itachi or itachi with aids? Nagato wins either way though. Even a retard could figure that out.

I wouldnt say he has no counter. Believe it or not it was already displayed in the manga that Nagato needs time to focus the chakra to rep Chibaku tensei. . and he doesnt release it until the next page. During that time frame, Itachi can easily lit up nagato with amaterasu or with the combination of his shunshin and totsuka blade he can end this.

Summons are of no concerns here honestly. We already saw how a simple amaterasu completely immobile them beyond repair[ ][ ]. It would be a hassle but with the combination of crow feints and his intelligence added with his speed he can pull it off.

He is. But you neglect the fact that Nagato can sense the build up of chakra prior to the attack; using this he is capable of moving his gaze. If he is hit; Nagato is broken. I'll agree to that

You're forgetting Nagato can sense the build up of chakra and was able to sense Itachi's Amaterasu before he used it. Once Nagato initiates Chibaku Tensei it's game.

They're in two different leagues. One's a demi-god, the other is elite. Tactically I'd give it to Itachi, but he doesn't survive an onslaught from Nagato.
