Sasuke was "out of chakra" then, so he couldn't use chidori. Plot enabled him to summon Manda when Deidara self destructed.

1. Naruto came in the fight completely battered. He had been practicing his Rasenshuriken all day. He came to the battle with the rasenshuriken less than 50% complete... That means he defeated Kakuzu basically more fatigued, and with a jutsu that worked less than 50% of the time... :yeah:

You're an idiot. Madara didn't just block with the swords. He applied the mountain busting attribute from the swords to the tbb. He deflected the explosion with the shock wave that the swords emit when swiped. In the scan of him blocking, you can see the swords being moved up, which shows a swiping movement. The swords itself did not tank the tbb. The shock wave from the mountain busting attribute did.

Well obviously Madara's whole susanoo got caught in the blast radius, The swords only blocked the impact of the TBB it's self.

Even so the swords alone are far larger than sasuke's susnaoo.
