I love fairy tail even though it can be a bit frustrating especially if you lack patience

Its meant to be funny and playful
But when it comes to plots twisting it turns out really good and gets serious a lot of moments
The first few episodes are a bit meaningless so...

Eh it's alright it's just under One Piece. I don't watch the anime other than a few random episodes I've seen on TV while nothing was on and I was channel hunting.

To be honest, I'd give it between 3-4 out of 10. That's a fairly generous rating imo, but you'd be surprised that it's not as bad as some of the other series out there (I'm looking at you, Manyū Hiken-chō...). Bear in mind that I'm not a massive fan of the series, but I catch up and follow it occasionally.
First and foremost, don't watch it with the expectation that it will be serious and monumental. There's only a few epic scenes throughout the entire series; the rest is gimmicky fanservice and cliché moments of 'friendship' triumphing over anything. As a result, the plot tends to lose focus and some of the fights are either too predictable or have unsatisfactory endings.
I will give it some credit, though. The art is quite appealing and there are a few arcs worth watching (a few examples are the Phantom Lord arc and the S-class Trial arc). That said, it's as typical as most weekly shōnen series get.
It all comes down to your personal preference. I'd advice dropping it if you're face-palming at every episode and instead seeking out some of the much better anime out there. I'll leave a list below if you're interested. =D

Gintama (although it's mostly a comedy-based series, the serious arcs are equally as awesome. I'd recommend the Kabukicho Four Devas Arc or Red Spider Arc.)
It's my favourite anime, but everybody has their own point of view. For me I'd rate it a 9, It's my favourite anime and I prefer it over Naruto & Bleach.
