Uzumaki inspiration

So I was searching for stuff today and typed in Uzumaki and accidently clicked the wiki link rather than the narutowiki link and I found this

Uzumaki (うずまき?, lit. Spiral) is a horror manga written and Illustrated by Junji Ito, and serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits.The story concerns the inhabitants of the small Japanese town of Kurôzu-cho that seems to be cursed by supernatural events surrounding spirals. Many people become obsessed or paranoid about spiral shapes, which starts resulting in several gruesome deaths. Eventually people start transforming into something other than human, such as snails and twisted forms. In the end the town is cut off from the rest of the world, which leads to apocalyptic events and a revelation about the secret hidden under the lake in the middle of the town.

Do you think Kishi got some inspiration from this manga for his Uzumaki clan, whose symbol is also a spiral and seem to have some connection to "supernatural" events aka the Bijuu and fuinjutsu like the RDS. Idk it just seemed so similar.

Did I mention Uzumaki came out first, the year before Kishi started Naruto in fact, so if he had read it it undoubtedly would be fresh in his mind.

I'm assuming you wanted me to see the Naruto Whirlpools part of that right, but the Whirlpool symbol was for the Uzumaki clan not Naruto specifically, there's also a harbor called Minato so... not really seeing the connection your trying to make with that.

Served on Miso Ramen typically, which is Naruto's favorite Ramen. Also this thread isn't about Naruto's name like you seem to want to make it, it's about the Uzumaki clan name and the spiral symbol. You are associating the Spiral to simply Naruto with those links as they make no mention of the word Uzumaki.

Also I never said "This IS where he got the idea" I'm asking if anyone else sees the connection, The supernatural/RDS, the focus of spirals/Uzumaki clan symbol, The Village being destroyed in both manga, the years of release, there are a lot of similarities is all. If you disagree fine, if you're trying to break down my theory go for it, but you're not doing so great a job, at least try to stay on topic and focus on the Uzumaki as a clan not just Naruto.

Please reread my first post, for it answered the question you were looking for. It was you who felt the need to continue and try to convince me.

The Onmyōdo is the inspiration for the Uzumaki Clan, priests who specialize in Onmyoūdon magic and exorcism, and the command of the Shikigamis.

PS: I have seen the movie you mentioned and it was creepily good.
