Base Mode gai is already faster then kakashi the data book is based on base stats haku died with a speed of 4 in the beginning of the series but when naruto leaked just a bit of the 9 Tails chakra Haku admitted to his speed was faster why wasn't naruto speed raised to a 5 ? Taijutsu is the what your saying Gai only has He has strength,stamina,speed and taijutsu yes kakashi is skilled at many things but these are the counters that would be needed to win.

He wouldn't have gotten beat as bad as kakashi and base Gai is faster I've already shown you the scan him beating him in base in speed. Your bring up the stats about kakashi having genjutsu but im bring up someone who has way better Genjustu still that couldn't put gai in a genjutsu that's bias Feature can Has better Stamina,Speed,Strength,Taijutsu on Kakashi Side Ninjutsu,Genjutsu,Inteligence,Hand Seals. Your saying he Kamui but Gai was able to open the 6 gates before Kakashi was even able to make a clone.
