[Question] Do you like Lucy as a character?

I like Lucy and think she is severely underrated as a character because she is used more as a fan service object in the manga, and even worse in the anime. Sure, Erza, Minerva, and Mirajane are more powerful than her, but considering she is not of an S-class rank I think she holds her own fairly well. But she is always out-shined by the other more powerful characters, so people forget about her power, and her ability to give Natsu strength because of their friendship. Not to mention, whenever she seems to be on a roll, some unfortunate circumstance ruins her chances and cuts her short before she can finish whatever she had up her sleeve (or lack thereof since her shirt is usually ripped off by the end of a fight).
Point of my post: she is more than a pair of boobs, but I don't think many see that.

This Exactly. Lucy is strong and beautiful, but there is too much forcus on her body and there arent enough moments where she is able to show her merit and whenever she is about to, she gets interupted somehow. MIrajane, Erza and the other women are beautiful too, but they can also kick major ass. Lucy can too, but they need to give her moment cause i feel like she deserves more respect by fans and in the world of FT.

I'm not that far into it and i already want her dead,
All she's done is cause Makarov's powers to get lost, get trapped in a water bubble while spouting some BS about her winning a fight, lose to a monkey, get captured by some freak on a boat,literally proivde no help at all for the battle on galuna island, or the fight against aragon and that dark guild ...
All she does is yell at people..My god it makes Sakura look like a ****ing god
Figures that ppl who hate Lucy are ofc Sakura haters ... I would love to ask a psychiatrist about that at some point, gotta find one, there are bound to be a few on campus XD ... I bet according to Freud it has something to do with repressed sexuality
Also its funny how ppl who go "Sakura and Lucy are useless" usually love Hinata and Lisanna
It started with Sakura but than ppl just assumee Lucy was the same, I guess not everyone is capable to see differences between characters

I mean I like her spirits and she has improved, but yeah, waiting to see Lisanna else improve. I don't hate Lucy though. She's somewhere in my FT female list.....somewhere.

I like that Hiro gives so much importance to females as opposed to Oda and Kishi. Like, some of the strongest in the entire series are females. It's heavily implied that Mavis is on par with Zeref given her ability to cast Fairy Sphere as a spirit. Erza, Kagura, Minerva etc. They're all powerful. What do girls in OP and Naruto do? Nothing.
I just prefer Lisanna over Lucy because I think it is the cuter, more fulfilling relationship for Natsu and the childhood crush theme is really nice. If Hiro were to go that route, we may see Lisanna grow in abilities as well, and possibly get to Mira level.

This is for those Lucy haters out there--
She has only been in the Guild for what about 1 year and some months all together if that and only been a true mage for about the same time so I think she has improved nicely. It took the rest of Team Natsu years before they reached the level they were Pre time skip. Lucy has surpassed that within a year to me that is impressive. She is not going to be on Erza and Mirajanes level over night just because she is main especially seeing as her back story and the way she was introduced.
Her Fanservice seriously isn't every chapter people just focus so much on what she is wearing it kills me. Like sriously people complain saying eww her clothes ripped after just fighting a battle and being blasted the same thing happens to Gajeels and Gray no one complains. Only time during a battle where she was fully undressed was during her fight with Zincrnis get over it. Before I even came on these forums i never even thought twice about fanservice in Fairy Tail.Now all you hear is Fanservice this Fanservice that. People Over exaggerate about her Fan service, how much she losses her keys and about her being a damsel in distress. You can only say that during the Phantom lord arc but every time else she had to fight her way to freedom. She was only kindnapped 3 times during this entire Manga and GMG and edolas don't count as true damsel in distress moments because during the Edolas Natsu and Wendy was also captured and during the GMG she had to fight hr way out the castle if I remember correctly being a Damsel in distress means that you just set back while being saved which Lucy never does.
Instead of focusing on her boob sizes and clothes pay more attention to her as a character. People have actually said she hasn't won a battle with or without her spirits which is funny and untrue. If you haters have the time maybe you should go back and look at her feats and fights beside calling he useless or weak.
P.S There is no way in Hell Lucy should be useful 24/7 especially when you have a huge cast and 2 other main characters with huge Egos and power.

They both annoy the hell out of me.
I like Erza . She is better on so many levels, its not even funny.

I agree. Erza has a much better back story and is significantly better in battle.
