Minato was their teacher not their babysitters, Nor can minato know everything thats going on at every point in time.

Minato most likely had his own important things to do, rather than babysit his two students who knew the risks of war and becoming shinobi.

The only people at fault are the people who kidnapped rin and made her a Jin.

You imply that Minato was in a position to help, but decided to let her die instead. However, you are wrong... Minato was not their for whatever reason, meaning he has no responsibility for what happened.

Note: Kakashi was the team leader, meaning he is responsible for whatever happens. Minato being their sensei doesn't mean he is liable for everything they decide to do.

I want to know what the timespan is here, it's clear that Minato must have turned up eventually and if he could he would have saved her, but that is Obito's point I guess, that some people have to die for the sake of others having peace, Rin in this case having to die because Minato was saving others. I guess it's all about how people's lives weigh up compared to others.
