I think when you look at the "devil" you only see one thing: evil.
Now whatever religion your viewing the "devil" from, your point of view will be different.
I will give you my opinion, being that I was born and raised catholic, I will give you the Christianity version of it.
The "devil" was an angel called Lucifer. He was one of God's most beloved angels/archangels. He was beautiful and magnificent and arguably God's favorite. Now, when God created man he asked all his angels to bow down to him including Lucifer. Lucifer being as proud as he was refused to bow down to creatures that were less than him and were murderous and the idea to bow down to these creatures was down right ludicrous to Lucifer. Because he disobeyed God, God told Michael to cast him to hell and banished him from heaven.
Now to answer your question, Do you think the devil could be good? Absolutely not.
When Lucifer decided to disobey I think he corrupted his sense of "justice" and turned it into hate and vengeance. Not only did it change him internally but as how we all see the "devil" he changed physically as well.
As it was mentioned above, God didn't turn the devil evil, he turned himself evil and corrupted any "good" there was in him, if there was any to begin with.
