Chakra sensing skills should have been reserved for top-tier ninja?

I want to apologize in advance if this doesn't seem to make much sense but I'll try to be as clear as possible. It's just some rambling/thoughts, it's imperfect and might lack logic but... Here we go.

EDIT: I'm NOT saying chakra sensing makes you top tier. I mean the opposite, rather.

Ok so we've all seen Obito saying that he sensed Sasuke gathering chakra in one eye, and at first I was like, man, so Obito is a sensor now, too? But then I realized that this actually makes a lot of sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if SO6P turned out to be a sensor as well, it's pretty logical. After all, he was the first to "discover mysteries of chakra", so in addition to seeing it with a Rinnegan he could have probably sense it, as well.

Also, Naruto gains sensory skills in SM, thanks to natural energy. Ino could sense natural energy in little Juubis. Juubi was natural energy itself, and it created chakra. That means that natural energy and chakra are not so different, and SO6P could probably sense natural energy as well, and maybe negative emotions, too.

Among Senju and Uzumaki (who are Sage-related on the "body"/younger son side) there are some people with various sensing abilities, such as Hashirama, Tobirama, Mito, Karin, Nagato. Besides, in Part I, it was implied that everyone can sense chakra if it's particularly strong.

So to sum it up, I think it would have been logical if sensing abilities were attributes of really strong ninja who are distantly related to the Sage ("body" = natural energy = chakra = closer to nature/chakra => chakra sensing), and maybe some who received special training.

However, sensing skills were first introduced as fodd-- I mean, supporting ninja skill, and those who had them were ninja with no almost real skills/strength in combat. The most laughable example would be Chukichi, the big guy who was resurrected along with Deidara, Sasori and Shin who literally stood behind the tree the whole time. Most sensory-type ninja constantly got owned and it left me with an impression that they were generally useless.

And then, when important, strong characters started displaying sensory skills, I did not like that at first, thinking, "Oh, come on, everyone is a sensor now, huh?". It started to seem like a plot device every time, because a character sensing something seemed to come up whenever it's convenient. But then it hit me (refer to the beginning of the thread).

And now I think that it would have made more sense if Kishi "reserved" sensing skills for exceptional ninja who are, figuratively and literally, closer to god (Sage). After all, Karin, who was later revealed to be an Uzumaki, was said to be unique at her debut.

Just cause you can sense something coming, doesn't mean you have the speed to block it.

Again, they must know which eye Amaterasu is in. As I pointed out before, Nagato claimed it was amaterasu then said "it's not amaterasu". Naruto told Killer Bee to watch out for Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu.. why? Because he didn't know which one it was coming.

Now, go back to Obito, he knows which eye Amaterasu is in. Hes watch Sasuke fight.

As Champ stated, just because you can sense it doesn't mean you can dodge.

I meant it more writing-wise, the nature of sensing abilities. Not as in "Sensing skills make you top-tier" but rather "It would make more sense if sensing skills were top-tier-ninja-exclusive".

Yeah, but Obito says "I sensed" in both mangapanda and *********** versions. Though it's still unconfirmed whether it was "kanchi" (the sensor sensing) or not.

Like I said, they wouldn't know which eye it was in. Obito has witness Sasuke fight before. He never said he sensed Amaterasu. He said I could sense the build up of chakra in your left eye.

Umm, yes? Did I ever disagree? I know he said that he could sense chakra building up. And it's still not the point of this thread.

Well Obito has the rinnegan that can see chakra *look at the pain arc right before pain uses the huge shinra tensei he asks tsunade why is she focusing chakra on her legs* so im guessing Obito saw the same thing tsunade did but in Sasuke's eyes.

Yes but like I said, it was translated as "I sense" rather than "I see". But I just used it as an example. Maybe it will turn out that the translation is wrong.

The weak should be able to sense danger in order to avoid it.

Lol, true =D But as ninjas, they should be able to sense danger/intentions etc without a special skill. Even Kimblee could do it.

Its a skill which is verymuch necessary in any battle so any high skilled ninja with talent for chakra sensing will like to learn it. So they learn it.
