Okay guys look at it this way. If white people shouldn't be allowed to use it then no one should. Including black people. But if black people use it in the terms of friendship,etc, then why shouldn't a white person? If they have no racist intent then there's no problem. A word can't belong to one race only that is beyond ignorance. You don't want other people using it but you use it yourself all the time? No.

Nigger originated as a neutral term referring to black people, It's a variation of a Spanish/Portuguese noun & Niger is Latin for the color black. It means that person is extremely unsophisticated.

It's normal everyday people that turned It into something racist. The origin of the word has nothing to do with racism.

Yes, definitely. He's not the person to be quiet about stuff like that. A man both of words and actions So if he felt offended by it, he would definitely let me know in one way or another.

I agree. I'm not a racist. There is no insult to anybody when I say Nigga. Some of my best friends were black.

You have to know who you are around and who gets offended I am white and went to a predominately black school where the N word was used often by everyone (of all races called each other that) around so yea the word gets picked up and used not to insult or demean. But I am dating a black guy who is not from same area, he is from an area where I can only assume the N word is not used as loosely because if it slips outta my mouth he gets offend.

I'm black. If someone uses the word against me in a hateful way, I honestly wouldn't care; if someone used that word against me they'd want me to respond, which is never worth it.

However and oddly enough, if anyone, black, white, or orange, uses the word towards me in a friendly manner, I'll take offense. There's a sort of ignorant/hostile tone whenever someone says it. Period. Kind of like how I don't understand these girls run around calling each other b*tches.

All in all, I don't tolerate anyone using the word towards me.

OT: Everyone has the right to say any word, it's just up to the person they use it towards to interpret it however they feel.

I guess since I got carried and expressed myself differently, it's too late for me to say this, but you're right; I have used some words that are traditionally offensive towards my friends in an friendly manner. My experience with the n-word has never been hostile or offensive, but always in a way that someone would try to get something out of me, as if I have a duty to fulfill when someone flashes the n-word beacon.

The whole concept of the word, is to establish seperateness between people which is an illusion. The fact that people still use the word whether to a friend or out of hate proves that everything Martin Luther King spoke, practiced and preached about still hasn't been grasped by America and that little progress has been made. Everyone's together but seperate.

Not exactly.

Races are seperate; but that's not nescassarily a bad thing.

For instance, when trying to find a criminal, authorities will describe them as White, African-American, Hispanic, etc. Whether we like it or not, race does provide distinctions for seperation.

That's not to say we should seperate resturants based on race.
