Why Itachi isn't as badass as Madara.

Ok so loads of people compare Itachi to top Ninja but here is a fact that will end the Itachi v Madara controversy once and for all;

If Itachi was so badass why didn't he release himself from the Edo Tensei contract like Madara did?

madara when releasing EDO tensei he had -rinnegan, EMS, mokuton, and 90+ years of xperience in ninjutsu . .
