The dude is a boss...he defiantly loses some credibility, but at the same time it is true that there are plenty of stronger....simply because of his age.
Only thing I'd say is that he mostly beat Edo Hanzo through skill as opposed to tactics. The only other problem is that he seemed to only be st an advantage against a long unpracticed and weaker Hanzo. As its notable that Hanzo committed sekkupu where he could have continued.
But regardless I love the guy....such a boss.
Solos the Sannin plus a platoon of Konoha Shinobi without a scratch and is declared unable to defeat Jounin level shinobi.....no. He was already known to be the strongest shinobi of his ere which puts him well above Jounin level.
This guy NAMED the Sannin, and even while fighting Pain he could not believe Hanzo lost.....
Extremely great Kenjutsu or bladed weapons. Was said to be unmatched in water maneuverability, Salamander summon that was poisonous, explosive tag ninjutsu, and that's all we have...and that's a fraction of his power/skill.
