Wow this is ****ing interesting.

Thank you! =D Kishi's development of Obito is nothing short of brilliant in my opinion

good shit. i hope minato ftgs to kakashi and ftgs him out since he already has his tag on him.

Thank you! It's possible especially since the alliance doesn't know if Kakashi survived the fight, but one thing is for sure, Kakashi will return to the battlefield. Also, he'll probably be confused as hell as to how Obito has the upper fight, since Kakashi won the fight lol.

awesome thread. Maby Obito wants to choose a successor..? (Naruto or Sasuke)

Thank you! And that is what I was hoping would be derived from the conclusion! I don't think it is in his current motivation to choose a successor to create true world peace, but before his death, he will want Naruto to carry on what he could not achieve. I am currently in the process of organizing evidence for a theory that should go deeper into the details of this conclusion. :yeah:

Great post. I think you are correct. He is not ready to change his mind yet but when he is at the point of death his fascination with Naruto will come into play. He sees the idealism he had as a boy in Naruto but he has also seen Naruto's will, strength and resolve and admires it. I think that is why he tried to win him over instead of crushing him, which he could have any number of times.

Thank you :) I agree and think there's a definite love/hate thing going on there. I think Obito admires it, but he also wants to attempt to make Naruto's philosophies fail like they did with himself, so that he can prove his new philosophies are correct more evolved than his old. But if Naruto's philosophies succeed over his at the end, then he will acknowledge it.
Obito is both the love and the hate! =D

Thank you! You may have already read it, but check out my other theory in my signature which basically expands upon what this symbolism means in relationship to the story. I think I am going to be doing another theory soon that will try to expand onto what Obito's role is in regards to Naruto and Sasuke, or a possible detailed explanation of how Obito became the Juubi Jin before the manga release, so definitely stay tuned =D

Amazing thread! I've always noticed the dualities throughout this manga, but I can't decide whether or not Kishimoto is trying to portray duality or trinity. Not just Senju v Uchiha, Yin + Yang, Good v Evil, but a third and balanced power. Anywho Rep to ya, great job

Duality is the theme and the key to resolution. But you're right and there is a trinity he is representing it through ;) I'm currently about halfway through writing a trinity theory, just haven't had much free time. =D Thank you for the post!
