He didnt revive Rin back into the world because he considers this Shinobi world hell. Naruto, Sasuke or Kakashi and others didn't meet Madara and weren't offered a free way to a solution, that's why they didn't sway towards the eye of the moon plan.

This is the perfect explanation, also the second part is exactly what i'm saying- i'm glad people do get it.

Rin triggered Obito's hate of this world. Why would Obito bring her back into it? To die again?

Also Obito doesn't just use it on himself because in his mind he honestly believes it is the right thing to do, just as Naruto believes stopping it is the right thing to do. Evil is subjective, whether Obito is right in bringing everyone else into is an evil thing or a heroic thing to do is debatable, I don't know what the answer is and i'm not saying I do- i'm just saying in his head- there is nothing wrong with his motivation.

That's all this thread is about.

Madara called it a world of winners not Obito. Obito hates the ninja system. The mist kidnapped Rin, an innocent 14 year old girl and made her the Jinchuuriki of the Sanbi just to get back at the leaf. If that isn't pathetic I don't know what is.

Re: OBITO'S MOTIVATION (and why there's really nothing wrong with it)

Naruto would understand when Sakura or Hinata die. Only way Obito would get Naruto to understand what he is trying to accomplish with Moon Eye Plan. However, Naruto would not admit and preach about how "this" reality is perfect the way it is.

Thats why when he thought that Hinata died he went berserk with rage and his only desire was to trapple Nagato into the dirt. right?

I posted this on another thread Of what I believe his motives are:

'It's natural to think of the person you love the most before you die. People are simplifying his motives too much.

Yes Rin's death was the trigger for Obito's downfall. But it's the same thing with Nagato, would he have become Pain had Yahiko not died? Or would Madara have conjured up Tsuki no me if Izuna and his brothers hadn't died? Or what about Oro when his parents died? You can't use that as an excuse to belittle Obito's motives.

Now actually onto his motives. It's not just the fact that Rin died, but rather the circumstances of how she died. I'm sure if it was a regular mist ninja killing her, then Obito would not have flipped out as much as he did. Obito put himself through hell during his training in Madara's cave which lasted for at least a year. He dreams about how he and Kakashi can work together as a team now to protect Rin and who does he see with his hand through Rin's heart? Kakashi. Obito witnessed his own friend killing his other best friend which is incredibly traumatising for someone of only the age of 14. People telling Obito to move on cannot possibly imagine an event like this especially when it's justified back in Konoha

No matter how you look at it, Obito's team meant the world to him. This is clear when Obito throws Kakashi out of the way of those boulders and his determination to save Rin. This is understandable as the Uchiha Clan cast him out for being a mere black sheep. Rin was the only one who actually acknowledged Obito and spurred him on to become to the Hokage.

Obito's motives are to end the ninja system. The fact that the Mist Village went as far as kidnapping Rin and making her the Jinchuuriki shows how far a Ninja village can go just for simple revenge. The shinobi world is corrupt and Obito wants to end that completely in his new utopia.'

ummm ... Everyone in manga wants to change the ninja system .... Gaara, naruto , sasuke , madara.... no one likes the present system .... atleast others have approaches that can exist in real life ....

1 persons death??

Orochimaru lost his parents when young... And saw deaths in his life ... So he wants to be immortal so that he may never feel the pain of death anymore...

Valid reason to be bad and torture children ... you must support him too

the dream world kills everyone other than him ..... Why does he need a dream world then ... he must just cast the genjutsu on himself by looking into a mirror ... why kill everyone??

hehe ... gaara's father sealed shakaku in him to create a weapon ... then ordered the only person he loved to kill him ... Why?? coz he cant control him ....

Imagine doing it to your children ...

Hey And obito most obvious motivation is a world of winners where he doesnt have to prove himself better than kakashi coz then she might fall for kakashi

No you're simplifying it too much. And once again Gaara didn't meet Madara, so he didn't rebel against the Shinobi world because he didn't know how too. Also Obito was trying to persuade Kakashi into following Tsuki no me, that shows that his intention isn't just to simply prove himself better than Kakashi. Team 7 was basically family to Naruto, and Obito felt the same way about Team Minato. He saw everything shatter apart before his eyes and went bezerk after Madara's influence.

That last point is wrong. He's not trying to save Rin nor is he trying to fix the world

He couldn't deal with the lose so he wants to wash everything away. You make him sound like an anti-hero, but really he's a weak(emotionally) coward.

How is he a coward? He basically challenged the whole Shinobi world. He is trying to fix the world, by controlling it through force, the same beliefs of the elder son. He wants to end the current Shinobi world and create a new one, same beliefs as Sasuke but different methods of course. Plus he was only 14 when he experienced the loss so it's easy to be traumatised especially when his own best friend was the one that killed her.

Question ... Will he be able to kiss, touch or do any of that good stuff with this illusion? And if he can. don't you think at some time he'll realize he's just sad.

Obito's motivations and the ultimate goal is far more palatable than Naruto's unrealistic pony-shit dreams that only 12 year olds have.

He is not trying to fix the ninja world, he is trying to get action with a genjutsu Rin.

Anyways he needs contact this guy for his 'human feelings'

Now you're just being immature.

My first post pretty much summed up the situation. Whether what Obito is doing is right or not, who knows- that's an open question depending on the reader but Obito IS fully justified in his motive. He has fine reason to do what he's doing from his perspective and that's undebatable.

That's all this thread was about. Numbers out.

getting revenge on those who killed her fair enough(i dont agree with revenge but still justifiable)
blaming the whole world and abandoning his ideals makes him weak...and dilusional

How I try to understand it

1) Obito's bond with Rin was strong because she supported everything he did, plus he loved her.
2) Rin's death was very tragic for him and along with that his moral bearings were gone as well.
3) (Most Importantly) Madara used her death to manipulate Obito into believing he could bring her back, therefore he lost all of his sense of right and wrong turning him into the man he is. He just had an unfortunate even of misunderstanding so

Re: OBITO'S MOTIVATION (and why there's really nothing wrong with it)

Except that the Eye of the Moon Plan doesn't really bring her back to life, it just creates an illusion of her.

I can understand wanting to bring dead loved ones back to life but creating illusions of them is just sick.

Except that obito is going to turn that dream into reality. Remember his fight with Konan, he explained how the practical application of Izangi was a key component in the Eye of the moon plan.

In any case, the only reality that matters is the one in your mind and that is shared by everyone else.

To be perfectly honest, I fail to see what is even wrong with Obito's motivation.

- Boy watches loved one die
- Boy grows sick of world and wishes he could save loved one from dying
- Boy is shown a perfect way to save loved one from dying
- Boy attempts to save loved one from dying and fix world

Can you blame Obito? I refuse to believe you, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi or even Sakura wouldn't do the same thing in his position. Body crushed, rescued from death, polluted by an evil old man and watching your loved one die in front of you?

These order of events could happen to anyone in the series and if you say you're above it that is ridiculous and you are lying because Obito was the most respectable and positive ninja before his death. Just because Rin happens to be a little girl and Obito's motivation people accuse him of 'not getting over a childhood crush' or 'lololfriendzoned' if you're not as smart when really, there is nothing wrong with Obito's motivation. It's simple and achievable. And there's no reason Obito shouldn't try to follow out the Moon Eye Plan.

Here's the thing, the idea that Obito has about the Moon Eye Plan doesn't seem to be wrong...when you first look at it. However, taking away someone's free will is completely wrong! Yes he wants to do it in order to bring back a loved one and end the "hatred of the world." The thing is that it won't be a good world to live in. Think about it. Would YOU really want your free will taken away? To live in a world where the creator (in this case Obito and/or Madara) could choose to end your life or alter who are you whenever they feel like it? That's not a world I could justify for just one person, especially knowing that it wasn't real.
