How did Obito release Madara's control?

I'm kind of confused on how Obito released Madara's control over him.

How did Obito have the power to do it? He was weakened and turned into an old man. I don't see how he did it.

Also, what did Minato mean by Obito planning this the whole time?? I thought he been planning to become it's Jinchuuriki to cast the Genjutsu, am I missing something?

Minato slashed him with a kunai in the neck so Madara assumed that he is as good as dead. We see after that the panel of Madara sitting again and holding his chin, not using any seals so it must mean that he withdrew the control. And because Obito wasnt dead yet, he took his chance to seal the juubi.

i dont think its that hard to notice that after minato slashed him with his kunai....obito collapsed....he couldnt use rinne tensei anymore so madara let him go.....

Izanagi, as why he's covering his right eye on the last pic, perhaps that eye socket is either empty or has gotten another rinnegan now but there's a chance he got a 9 tomoe Sharingan as well

This is true. Although, at this point it seems izanagi was the only way to explain his way out of death and straight to the top of villains in an instant. It would also make for interesting plot if he did use it because this would prevent him from just launching the Moon Eye Plan and his line of attack would be getting a sharingan from Kakashi or Sasuke.

I think he has either a rinnegan or a 6-T sharingan (incomplete juubi). But he didnt use izanagi, how would he perform I/T?

I believe he's holding the side of his face because he's shattering black zetsu's control over him & healing, I could be wrong but im almost positive its 1 or the other or both.

Yea, although I think Sasuke would be protected by plot so he would go after Kakashi's lol. Agreed on the second part, but perhaps we didn't see the Izanagi for suspense reasons, or Izanagi animations are different depending on the user's will/skill. Obito has said that Izanagi is simply the power to turn imagination into reality so perhaps if he used it to become the Jinchuuriki to prevent his death, we wouldn't see him fade as when one uses it to prevent their death.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but obito would have to wait for kakashi to return.

& that is an interesting thought, because edo tensei's animation has changed as well. + rep for the idea at least

Haha yea, I have a feeling he will soon because him and Obito still have some unresolved issues. I also have a feeling that Izanagi was a blank-check plot tool Kishimoto was waiting to be able to use for Obito, and this seems like it. I'm almost positive we will get what Izanagi officially does next week
