Django Unchained

Wow! This film was simply outstanding.Quentin Tarantino outdoes himself in this master piece of a film. The film is set in a western civilization during the time of slavery in 1958.Jamie Fox plays a black slave who is then given his freedom by Dr King Schultz. The Dr is by far my favorite character in this movie. He has this old man swagger and class and when mixed in with how cocky he is,makes him a lovable old man.He gives Django his freedom and trains him to become a bounty hunter like himself. The montage of Django becoming a better Bounty hunter is good but lacks depth. You often see scenes of him killing everyone without missing and this is where the film takes a slight dip.He was a slave through most of his life meaning he wouldn't of held a gun properly. However he manages to shoot people who are on a horse, moving in the opposite direction than him, first time.Little things like this effect the film and I think were rushed and just placed in as they are action scenes.

After Django has become a fully fledged Bounty hunter, the Dr becomes aware that he Django has a wife. The Dr then promises to help him free his wife and this starts the race across the country to find his wife. They track his wife, who is now working in a plantation owned by Candie. Candie is played by Leonardo DiCaprio. His performance in this film is outstanding. He plays a racist plantation owner with bad teeth and charm.

The Dr allows Django to ride his horse through the town to the discuss of fellow racists. This scene is well, brilliantly done by Tarantino and leads to the most anticipated of fights throughout the film.Where Django gets to kill Racist people. This film is a long one, taking up well over two hours. Some parts of the film are stretched and seem like Tarantino wanted to fit as much in as possible in one film.He could of split the film into two like Kill Bill, but that wouldn't work with this film.

Django is a long and superb film. The scenery and landscape is shot beautifully and the relationship between Schultz and Django is done with ease and makes it believable friendship. The film is full of action, tension and 'dirty' humour. All in all I would recommend this film. But if you are easily effected by racism then dont watch it.

Django Unchained was brilliant. =D I agree with you, Dr. Schultz was my favorite character! And I gotta admit, Leo DiCaprio's performance as Calvin Candie was frightening, but excellent. O_O I expected a lot from this movie, considering that it's a Tarantino film, but this movie far exceeded my expectations. There's so much more I can say, but seriously, I recommend Django Unchained. :yay:

I thought this movie would be boring but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dialogue was funny and the plot was interesting. The soundtrack was surprising as well. Since it is a Tarantino film the violence was quite graphic but it wasn't too bad. Christoph Waltz's performance as Dr Schultz was definitely my favourite. He deserved his oscar for this film. Django Unchained is my 2nd favourite Tarantino movie after Inglorious Basterds.
