Is Sakura a rip off?

Before you read this thread. I just want to say that I do not hate Sakura. I just noticed some similarities that she shares. Look at these 2 pics.

Sakura:

Amy rose:

appearance: Both have pink hair with similar styles (except for the hedgehog spine style on Amy), red dress, and both have a band over their heads, their eyes are both green as well.

Personality: Both are obsessed with their crushes. Both have a volatile personality and will strike those who annoy them. I'd be lying if I said that their personalities are the same though. Amy is more child like. Sakura is obviously smarter.


Both are super strong. For those who would argue that Amy is a Sakura rip off and not the other way around, Amy got her new look in the game Sonic Adventure in 1998.

The Naruto manga didn't start until 1999.

On top of this, Amy got insane strength before Sakura. She had it in Sonic X which started in 2003.

Sakura got her strength in part 2. It's first volume was released in 2005.

I just found this comparison interesting since I started out as a Sonic fan.

Team 7 is sort of the rip off, lol the only differenece is Naruto personality and Saskue being a bit more evil. But Amy is depicted as more girly than Sakura too.

My Favorite Character is Cream & Cheese, on the games she was the best character

Well the personality is a bit generic in Japanese manga and ur wondering about why lead heroines in many mangas have an overdose of pink? Its often the usual norm.

Also u missed a greater example of plagarism .... er 'inspiration' ..... Naruto-Sakura-Sasuke relationship has a near 95% similarity with Hanamichi-Haruko-Kaieda relationship in Slam Dunk at the roots (Cos Kishi intially didnt find Sakura cute enough, and thus gave her a spunky personality to make her interesting).

The run style of ninjas and Sonic characters are very similar,
Juubi based off Perfect Chaos,
Both series have something do with an orbiting satellite,
Both series developers seem like they are spending too much time on the crack pipe.
