I think that Itachi could surpass Madara if he lived long enough,he slaughtered entire clan ,but yes in Madara's time uchiha was stronger but still that's good job.And he would be a great leader of Uchiha.

No, he was terminally sick. Thats not just a plot point, its an important part of his character. A living Itachi can't be imagined who isn't sick, because if you really look at his character he'd probably be a lot different if he wasn't sick.

If Itachi didn't have that disease and hadn't overused his MS then he could have told Sasuke the truth and go on to be anything from Leader of ROOT, to Hokage, like I think the 3rd was planning.

Itachi isn't as bad as haters claim him to be, but some people have to high expectations for him. I think he is awesome, and on par with Sasuke in almost every field except Genjutsu, that's where he beats most anyone.

Wow cold makes you cough up blood, I would love to know what kind of cold you get....and if he didn't kill the clan off danzo would have done it....also the uchiha name would have lost it's reputation and at that time he was the smartest ninja sooo IF konoha wasn't formed and itachi was this gifted he most likely would have been the leader after his dad

Itachi killed the entire clan at night through Espionage and not to mention that he betrayed them. None of them expected their own man to stab them in the back and brutally dispatch kids even. Had all of them been awake or expecting it and ready to fend him off, do you think he would have managed it? I hardly doubt it.

No. only Sasuke has chakra as powerful as Madara's and even then I doubt he has the stamina of Uchiha Madara. hebi Sasuke showed superior mastery of the sharingan when his three tomoe beat itachi's ms, as stated by genjutsu.

Uchiha Madara was a pioneer of the uchiha, and someone with massive battle experience unmatched in the current era. him taking on hashirama on for a full day is ample proof of that, and defeating two dust release users simultaneously. he pushed his way to the top of a clan at the time obsessed with battle.

IF Itachi didn't have sickness, If he has better stamina, and IF he had more powerful chakra, and IF he made more inroads into the secrets of hte mangekyou, then yes he might surpass Madara. but then he would not be Itachi

hebi sasuke showed better mastery of the sharingan than itachi, and his katon overpowered itachi's (and that is not considering his raiton), and sasuke's katon doesn't hold a candle to madara's.
