Cause he's one of the most manipulative characters to exist. He's an awesome character who started an entire war by himself he's been pulling the strings of many and he's the reason for a lot of things, plus I really enjoy his character development.

The reason isn't Rin or Kakashi. It's because of the world we live in - it's fake, horrible and disgusting. He discovered this through Rin's death but it wasn't why he's evil. It was an awakening let's say. He then became a loser - he wouldn't even be able to compete with Udon or Naruto and a year or two later, matched the Yellow Flash and controlled the Kyubi. He then went on to start a criminal organization, manipulate 9 Missing-Nin, trick the world into believing he's Madara, capture 7 or 9 Biju, start a War, use them as weapons and kill 40 000 shinobi.. He's not badass at all is he :/

Ok I'm gonna make this brief. So it's actually surprised me how many Obito fans there are on narutobase. So my question to those people: How can you call a guy who's evil just because 1 girl died a "Badass"?. I mean yeah you've got to give him credit for being the leader of the Akatsuki and organising the 4th great shinobi world war but all beacuse Rin died? It may be because of his power, in that case let's take Itachi for example he would be the definition of Badass; no bullshit, down to it, Susanoo, you name it. I think it's fair to say that Obito would be dead meat by now if Kabuto hadn't of decided to bring Madara into the game.
