Alright let’s get started. I really enjoyed this debate. The fighters were interesting, two of which have actually fought before and the debaters portrayed their abilities in the best light during this match. The arguments were rather short but enjoyable to read none the less. I will now begin to judge.
Dr. Proof, your post was commendable. You displayed Kakuzu’s long and wide range techniques, how they might be employed in deflecting and penetrating sand, how his flight ability would increase the reach of his attacks and leave his enemy with literally no place to hide. How his threads can even burrow into the earth for a devastating surprise attack, how his Fire mask can work in conjunction with the Wind to the effect of generating pure devastation and you well portrayed the degree of piercing power imbued in the lightning spears of Gian.
As for the Second Mizukage, you depicted his every known move with great skill. The water bullets ability to pierce Sasori’s core, the Mirage genjutsu’s distortion of reality, the immunity to poison granted by the Mizukage’s liquid configuration. Truly impressive indeed. I think you should also be commended for your initiative by not allowing the Mizukage take on Gaara, who has defeated the water user in the past.
Your argument could be faulted in some ways however, and now I would endeavor to enlighten you. Firstly, While Kakuzu’s Gian is a high level Lightning attack, equal to two S-Ranked Raikiri in power, Gaara’s sand is also a very potent defense, to the extent that it has been dubbed the Ultimate Defense. There is no assurance that Gian would pierce every degree of sand. His sand has undoubtedly come a long way since his genin days, I don’t suppose you think a 12 twelve year old Sasuke can just run up to him armed with a Chidori and have any chance of success, do you?
It was never explicitly stated that lightning in the weakness of Gaara’s sand. It’s an assumption based on something that happened when Gaara was a genin. Even when Sasuke managed to achieved this feat, he could only get so far as to wound Gaara’s shoulder after piercing the sand. Orochimaru called Kimimaro’s spear the ultimate blade, and he knows Kakashi has Raikiri. So it the eyes of the aged and experienced Sannin, Kimimaro’s blade is the strongest. And yet it was shattered by Gaara’s sand after only piercing a small distance. Also, Gaara’s sand, like your opponent pointed out, could resist one Susanoo sword and then still protect Gaara from about five. This is weakened Gaara and it wasn’t even all his sand.
You are also forgetting that Gaara’s sand has resisted the lightning empowered attack that the Fourth Raikage was about to deliver on Sasuke, while at the same time resisting the Uchiha’s Blaze Release. If you have a knowledge of science, you’d know that lightning has a very high temperature which is its main power(it strikes a tree and the trees bursts into flames). Amaterasu’s temperature is such that it easily burned through A’s lightning armor( a feat Sasuke’s lightning technique Chidori could only just manage to accomplish) and yet it failed to burn through Gaara’s sand at all. All this should tell you just how resistant Gaara’s sand is to heat and piercing power.
Also, you surmised that that the Iron Sand would be unable to render Jouki boy immobile. The only quality required for stopping Jouki boy is to over lay it with a material much denser than it. Gaara can use the Iron Sand of the Kazekage. As for the heat factor, yes, it is a good conductor of heat but that was actually a plus for Gaara as the gold conducted the heat away from the Jouki boy, allowing the hail to cool it. It is the exact same scenario(I think this was mentioned in the manga). You said Gaara would be too busy with Kakuzu to locate the clam, neglecting that Gaara was actually busy with the Mizukage when he located the clam in the manga and still had the presence of mind to save Onoki from certain death via a sand clone.
Sasori of the Red Sand, your posts were great. Very little in the way of fallacy and assumption. You rendered the Mirage genjutsu and the Infinite Explosions Technique futile by correlating your argument with the manga canon. You defended Gaara’s sand astutely from the assumption of a lightning weakness. You showed great creativity and ingenuity in mixing Iron Sand with sand for increased defensive power. You showed how Iron Sand alone is capable of capturing and killing the rather elusive Mizukage via suffocation. I could go on and on, but I believe I have suffered the spectators and debaters enough with the lengthy post, so I shall conclude by simply saying, Sasori of the Red Sand wins! ^_^
