Did Sasuke really see through Itachi's Tsukuyomi?

This is something old but it's been on my mind now since I've been watching old episodes of Naruto.
Itachi and Sasuke had their rematch in Shippuden and during the course of the battle Itachi caught Sasuke in Tsukuyomi.. We now know that Itachi had no intent to kill or incapacitate Sasuke in that fight so is it possible that he took it easy on him? So that Sasuke can break out of it?

Itachi used Tsukuyomi on Kakashi and here Kakashi wonders why Itachi didn't kill him even Kisame is suprised.

He even used it on Sasuke when he was a kid and he didn't get incapacitated.. he still managed to get up and run away..

My point is that it looks like Itachi can control how much mental damage he can cause on his victims whether he wants to kill or not.
He may of gone easy on Sasuke but what do you guys think? Discuss...

Itachi's Tsukoyomi is something he can control and with varying quality. What Itachi did to Sasuke was not incapacitate him with torture, but to just show him what he did to facilitate a growing desire to defeat him, so that Itachi could atone for "his failures to protect the Uchiha clan".

Even against Hebi Sasuke, all Itachi was doing was trying to force Orochimaru to come out. Why would he kill Sasuke?

Yeah but a lot of people seem to accept that 3 tomoe hebi sasuke can see through tsukuyomi.

Sasuke did break Tsukuyomi, but only a weaker version of it (which is still a good feat).

However, it's clear that there are varying levels of Tsukuyomi. If Itachi used a more powerful version then Sasuke would be in a coma or dead.

Well, you were in the right manga chapter when Itachi explains that "people with sharingan have the ability to resist ocular dojutsu" or something to that effect, right? It's not so far off the track to assume pure Uchiha with sharingan can resist ocular dojutsu further.

Either that, or Itachi was the puppet master the entire time and trolls his playthings for entertainment

Haha yeah that is true but I guess it all depends on that uchiha's mastery of their sharingan... I believe that Sasuke shouldn't have seen through Itachi's Tsukuyomi at that point of time.. Perhaps when Sasuke acquired his MS yeah.

Only non-uchiha's suffer such dramatic effects from the tsukyomi and sometimes die too.

Sasuke is an uchiha, he it's not that he can really see through it but he can break it though.

It took him a while to realize the duration of itachi's tsukyomi

Yes he hit Sasuke with Tsuluyomi but he didn't want to kill or incapacitate Sasuke.. he was using all these moves so he can make Sasuke believe that he was really trying to kill him.

if itachi used a full powered tsukoyumi he would be going in thinking he would knock sasuke out why would he do that... He wants to push his brother not throw him in a coma... A full tsukoyumi on iitachis part ( thinking it would work ) would be bad for the result he wanted.

On the other hand in that tsukoyumi he was taking sasuke's eyes out, where would this end.. if he plucked them in the tsukoyumi world...

I"m sure EMS Sasuke can break it perhaps MS Sasuke can too but yeah I agree with what you say his goal was to make it believable that he was trying to kill Sasuke.

It can kill but Itachi chose not too since he was a good guy all along... even Kisame was suprised it didn't kill him which might mean Kisame might have witnessed Itachi use it to kill some one in the past? Idk

Despite itachi playing weakling, sasuke did break out of his genjustu.

He has been hit by so many of itachi's genjustu's that in theory it is nostalgic. Or maybe i'm wrong
