Count Dooku of Serreno. Also known as the Sith Lord, Darth Tyranus. Leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and second apprentice to the unimaginably powerful Darth Sidious. Engineered the Clone Wars and commissioned the Clone Army of the Republic to bring about the rise of the Galactic Empire with Darth Sidious. Also one of the most skilled duelists in history, in the same league as Yoda, Sidious, and Mace Windu.

General Grievous. Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army and taught in the ways of the Lightsaber by his master, Count Dooku. A feared Jedi hunter who led the Confederacy to many victories during the Clone Wars. One of the most powerful Lightsaber combatants who ever lived.

Darth Sidious, born as Palpatine. One of the most powerful beings that ever lived, Palpatine was undoubtedly a contestant for being the most powerful Sith Lord in history. Started the Clone Wars, playing both sides against the other, creator of the First Galactic Empire, brought about the destruction of the Jedi Order, defeated Grand Master Yoda in combat, and became near immortal with the creation of clones for the purpose of housing his soul when he died. Darth Sidious was quite possibly the greatest threat the galaxy has ever faced.

Darth Plagueis, an immensely powerful Sith Lord and the one who taught Darth Sidious. The one who came up with the plan to bring about the end of the Republic, the beginning of the Empire, and created several scernarios which led up to the Clone Wars. An utter genius, Darth Plagueis discovered how to manipulate the Force to bring life back to the dead, and almost unlocked the secrets of immortality.

1. Darth Revan

His story is completely epic....I mean aside from the glory days of the Old Republic, he was a boss. He managed to fall all the way down to the Darkes levels as a Lord of the Sith, and after being betrayed he managed to come back as a hero of the Jedi by defeating Darth Malak. Afterwards he went to the unknown regions of space to either deal with threats he discovered or prevent their arrival.

2. Shaak-Ti

A Jedi Council member, Shaak-Ti was known for her wisdom. Aside from that she could naturally sense people near her, and this made her dangerous in combat as she could tell who was where. My initial love for her came from the Animated Clone Wars series where she basically led Palpatine and her rag tag team of rookies against Grievious and his army...she managed to go and take on the 20+ enemies as a sacrifice to save the team...sad it didn't work out. Her battle strategies in the battle for Kamino kept the clone armies in production.

3. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Proably one of the most important Jedi in history. His deeds are pretty much self-explainitory. He was a leader in the Clone Wars, Killed Darth Maul, but most importantly set up the next generation of Jedi.

4. Plo Koon

Aside from looking badass, he was badass. He was the best pilot after Seasse Tinn and Anakin Skywalker. Unlike most of his peers he practitioned Force Lightnint that he called Electric Judgement. He was a Jedi Council Member. He also effectively led several battles both before and during the Clone Wars (the other one being the Stark Hyperspace War as I recall).

5. Yoda

Yoda is probably the most influential Jedi during his time on the council. His strength and wisdom are legendary. Even after his prime, he waited in order to properly train Luke who would come to lead the next generation of Jedi. If you ignore everything else...at least his crazy flips will be something to remember.

My favorites are Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu, I believe.

Obi-Wan was elegance, intelligence and grace all wrapped into one, plus he was funny too. One of the best duelists ever in Star Wars, and could probably become better if he didn't use his latter years of learning different ways of the Force while in hiding. And also one of the best pilots in the Republic, despite the fact that he hated flying.

Mace Windu was wise, cunning and quite possibly the strongest duelist in Star Wars. His only rivals were Yoda, Sidious and Dooku. What makes him so awesome is that his fighting style delved into the dark side of the Force. But he was still able to stay in the light. Definitely a master of the Force.
