[Discussion] Why is Naruto's voice actor female?

I've always wondered about this since I started watching this anime. When I found about it, I was pretty shocked! Anyway, Junko is great! Her voice transformation is amazing!

It just fits I guess. I like the Japanese voice actor but I hate he English dub voice actor.

Mainly because she could voice a high strung 12 year old like Naruto and carry it over to when he became a teenager.

Just because they found a fitting voice for his character and it just happened to be a female ,there are a lot of females that voice younger guys in anime

Goku, Gohan, Goten, and Bardock are all voiced by the same voice actress in Japan.

What do you mean "why"? Because she voice acts the character so well and doesn't sound like a female whilst doing it. It's not that big of a deal. There are a lot of females that do voice acting for male characters. Not that surprising, to me.

Because there isnt a lot good young boys voice actors.
And it will be bad with a man voice because he is still young. A women is the better choice for naruto lol

It's easier for a female to act teen voice since their Adam's apple is not as dark/big as males.

I'm pretty sure the English dub is also a women.... I remember watching a vid of her doing the voiceover for Naruto, and I was like "whaaaat?"

Funnily enough, the woman who voices Trunks in DBZ is also a female.

Not only that, but she's bangin.
