The question I'm trying to ask is do you think Kishi has prolonged it too much and do you believe Sakura deserves to be with Naruto, the hero, the future savior of the world, etc. etc.
I for one believe the perfect opportunity would have been this current chapter during his attempt to redeem Sakura.
Though whenever she reflects back to Sasuke, I cant help to realize how much she hasn't changed and have as of lately begun to dislike Sakura a bit. Naruto-solo is where I'm at atm.
What are your current thoughts of the pairing and it's direction?
I think trying to determine which female character "deserves" the protagonist the most is a flawed and misogynistic attitude that is, unfortunately, employed by a vast amount of NaruHina shippers and even some of the NaruSaku shippers.
I don't think Sakura needs to be "redeemed" to "deserve" anyone. This concept is so insulting and ass-backwards it's ridiculous. I think saying Hinata "deserves" the protagonist the most is insulting to her character and treats her like an object.
Naruto loves Sakura. Sakura needs to figure out how she feels and the manga slowly, but surely, seems to be heading in that direction towards her resolution with this subject. Sasuke is a question mark and seems to be asexual, frankly. Hinata loves Naruto but also has to be acutely aware of Naruto's feelings for Sakura, if for no other reason than her eyes. In fact, we've never seen any inner dialogue from Hinata addressing this even when Sakura hugged Naruto after the Pain fight as she looked on.
Kishi owes it to Hinata as a character to have her address her feelings just like Sakura seems to be getting time to address hers. I think if maybe our girls got more panel time and dialogue the fandoms would treat them less like objects to be paired with something and more like people.
