Honestly do some research. The physical requirements may be different but have you looked at the weight standard? Men have a much easier time getting into the Military. 5'3 and 129 pounds? Look at the height and weight standards that's BEFORE you even can go to boot camp. Before your ASVAB's and MEPS and even after boot camp. I got along with other female soldiers just fine btw, I really don't see the basis for that line honestly. As a woman in the Military you really are expected to be more mentally strong than physically, that's just common sense. Like I said you can't expect a 5'3 129 pound woman to be stronger than say 5'10 200 pound man and expect them to do the same physically. I scored an 89 on my ASVAB'S you guys do know this plays a factor in where you get placed right? You don't just say Oh hey I wanna be Combat Military Police. Oh I wanna be artillery. NO you have to test and show you have the capability for it.
Honest to god I'm not gonna indulge this anymore, but please before you even begin to say talk to more female soldiers. Men fight over stupid petty bullshit to, not just woman. Most of them and their ego's who's better at shooting, who's better at this blah blah. Honestly I have seen wayyyyy more men fight than Woman. Deal with it. About Woman being more emotional that's true, by Nature we are but as a Female soldier you have to learn to deal with that, The Woman that fight and be petty don't belong anywhere in the Military. They are weak and can cause havoc for an entire battalion. I have seen some amazing Woman too, It just depends on how mentally/emotionally strong you are.
Woman and Men are different in every single way. Some Woman are strong, some are weak just as some men are strong and some get their ass kicked. It's been this way for centuries and It's not gonna change. Men are paid higher than Woman for working at the same Job, But that's fair right? Some men who decide to stay home and be a house dad are pussies right? Some Woman are expected to be housewives and those that work are considered less of a woman. Give me a break with this gender shit. Men and Woman are different. Physically, Mentally and Emotionally. No equal rights bullshit...It's never gonna happen.
The bold is the exact mentality needed to be in an infantry rifle platoon. We fight over things. Try to gain dominance over the other. Bragging rights. "I can shoot better", "Tap out or pass out" everything and anything makes an infantryman a better fighter. And still no grudges are held. That's what I remember in my time in the grunts. Two different infantry battalions and the mentality is the same. I change MOS and I had to change my leadership style in a COED environment.
I've said it before, women are already in combat roles. I have had the honor to serve with fine Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors in a deployed combat environment. And like men, some shine and some don't. My point is women serving in a Combat Arms MOS would not work. But being in a combat arms MOS and being in combat are two different topics.
I am flabbergasted the level of non-sense that is grossly rampant in this thread. Hand to hand or handling guns; there is no contest. Women cannot perform at optimum level compared to men given the biological differences. Kindly open a few books to understand how guns works. The constant recoil effect from the gun alone would wear a woman out much faster than man given his superior muscle fibers. It's as if no one has seen a single physics book here. My God!
Women shouldn't be allowed in the army in the combat division as they would take up the positions that could be filled up by men. That's that.
I have, that's why I am even debating. More muscle results in better speed as well. Ever seen a marathon run? Look at the difference between the speeds. Men are built for better combat. Those Osteoporosis rates are very real. You can consult medical books or even check out stats on google if you feel like it. What lies at the core of it? Heavier bone mass.
On paper that sounds right. But I've seen a chick out shoot a guy in every yard line up to 500 yards. A 5'5" female hip toss a 6 foot 190 lbs dude. Another firemans carry a guy that was 75 percent more than her body weight for 500 yards. It's all about technique and will. Things that are taught and deeply ingrained. Yes maybe guys are better built for it, but that's not to say girls can't.
