Not that it handn't done so earlier, but I think the last few chapters have made it perfectly clear that the author has finally decided to end the thing, and if he has to jump through hoops in order to to do so, while at the same time disregarding all previous character development, so be it. It has been very clear for a while now that the mangaka had lost "control" over the plot, and the sudden and rather out-of-character actions of the cast has highlighted that to no end.
1) Team 7 is suddently relevant again
It has been like what, 100+ chapters since the main cast has been Naruto, Yamato and Killer Bee. Most of the Konoha 11 have been fodderized to no end, and aside from Naruto and Sasuke, everyone including Sakura has been sidelined. That the author suddenly decided to focus on their development in order to bring back the feeling of "It feels like back in those days" is either a pathetic attempt to try to rail back the story to what it looked like originally, or rather, some sort of attempt at self-criticism.
Forcing those characters back into the storyline simply sounds overtly artificial.
2) Zomgs, I waana be da h0kagez!!!!1eleven!!!111one
Granted, it's been a running theme since forever... But yeah, everyone suddenly remembers that, since it has been sidelined in like... Since forever.
3) Sasuke turns good? Wtf?
Ok, that turd deserves some attention on it's own. The fact that first Sasuke goes from a completely self-absorbed "avenger of the Uchiha" to a bleeding heart, tough as nails protector of the village simply spits plot derailment on some many levels that every page of this manga drips salive as you read it, and might as well end up burning your monitor.
Sure, it could have happened gradually, as Sasuke somehow understood the motives behind the whole Uchiha x Senju feud, but I don't really think he would go all sentimental thinking of how konoha was important to his brother (nevermind the fact that he couldn't care less about the people in there, since he's all "Uchiha are the only real people in the world"), and I don't really think he would simply forgive the kind-hearted elders who basically came up with the political climate to slaughter his whole family...
But then again, let's face it: It's been a long time since Naruto was about political shades of grey where nobody's good, rather than about goodie-two-shoes ninjas.
4) Sakura is suddently somebody once again? Wtf?
Can't really express this one in words. That girl has been nobody for like 100+ chapters, the author had been hinting that Naruto finally grew tired of her two-timing ho ways, and all of a sudden... "Hey dad, here's my girlfriend... Who also happens to no longer be dead weight!". WTF.
That one could also have happened in a way that matches character development... But let's face it, who cares? Just dump her back in with her team 7 mates and everyone's happy, right? Character development is so overrated when you can just Deus Ex Machine the whole thing.
5) "T-t-that's Hashirama! Screw moon's eye plan! My panties are wet with the thought of fighting him!"
Yeah, yeah. I mean, dude spent his entire life engineering that plan and suddenly all he cares about is for another shot at Hashirama's wood. Nevermind the fact that he could very well wipe out most of the allied forces in order to ensure his plan's success. Shaft that. Let's fight! It's so much funnier!
6) "I'll ressurect everyone that's relevant to the plot in order to emotionally destabilize their forces!"
Kushina and Mito, anyone?
7) The final battle is coming!
They might as well throw the Ramen Guy in it. I mean... It's not like everyone's that has been hyped to oblivion ain't there already, he shouldn't miss the party.
And that's it. With his utter disregard for character development, artificially railing the plot to some ub3r f1n4l b4t7l3 and for simply taking a huge fetid DUMP on the whole of Naruto's manga, I believe it clear that the author has finally had the manga Jump The SHARK!
If you agree with me, or don't, please share your thoughts.
