Okay welcome to genjutsu 101. Since we are not sharingan users we will have to do this the hard way, through good old fashioned traning. Now I'm going to put you in a genjutsu soon to get you acustomoed to the feel of it. you have to be able to recognize that you are in it and quickly find a way to escape.

Kai is stopping that chakra flow =P There is one more way to release yourself from genjutsu. Shikamaru did this agianst tuyuya

pain releases most genjutsu as well. The sharp impulse sent to the brain can interupt the chakra seignals, which interrupts the genjutsu.
now use one of the methods the release yourself from this genjutsu....

good now that you have noticed how real Genjutsu can look, you can keep an eye out for it.
now genjutsu requires excellent chakra control because you have to manipulate the sensei in the persons brain. if you mess up oen part of the genjutsu the illusion will fail.
Now genjutsu is not merely illusions. Its more of like hypnosis. If the person believe pain is being inflicted they will feel it for real.
now, try and mainpulate my most basic sense, sight. Make me see something that should not be there. keep it simple, nothing that will cause a small or require me to feel it.

Very good ^-^. lets move on to the next one, which is a direct transition from this one.
With this genjutsu you mask the appearance of an explosive tag as it flys toward your enemy
You attach the tag to a kunai or something like that, then throw it. Use genjutsu to make the flying tag look like something else (a butterfly, bird, pillow, or even a leaf) then as the tag comes into range of the enemy it explodes and they are none the wiser.
Try it on my water clone
*creates water clone then moves away from it*

ok how am i gonna do this hmmmmmm i got it *jumps behind a tree and makes a clone*
*then me and the clone runs towards ur water clone and i jump up and kick off of the clone to propel me a far distance away then the clone explodes*

remember. this is an illusion, you cant do anything physically with the clone, so you arent able to jump off of it. what you can do is make a Clone (illusonary) so mask theappearance of a paper bomb.
So you perform your genjutsu, throw the paper bomb attacked to a shuriken or kunai, and make it look like something other than a paper bomb. so you can make your paper bomb look like you or a rock or a bird
