this does not necessarily mean it is a misstranslation. Rin is just a kid and does not have Tobirama knowledge.
did Rin at that point in time even knew Minato could teleport??
we know Minato can teleport people/bijuus/objects with him, why in the world would they all arrive at different times if he had a mark in the battlefield???
heck we even already saw him teleport a full Kyuubi. teleporting a few people (specially being an edo) wouldnt really be a problem.
is pretty obvious they used body flicker to get there as fast as possible.
The kunai was shown before he appeared, also the other three hokage got there at exactly the same time, confirming that tobirama brought them there.
The most logical assumption is that tobirama brought them there but minato threw his kunai in the midst of arriving.
Its highly possible, especially from this chapter is not instant, therefore i see no reason why minato cant still throw his kunai while teleporting
The time the kunai was shown, Minato was on the battlefield already since long time ago, since meanwhile, he had time to throw kunais around the Juubi, go to a rock near a sea and throw another kunai and warp his TBB there all that before we actually saw the kunai in question, so the most logical assumption here is that the kunai we saw was placed long after Minato's appearance on the battlefield, so it had nothing to do with it
I see nothing in this chapter that even imply the jutsu is not instant when we saw Minato teleporting Tobirama, Hiruzen and himself instantly on the different seal-location. Said jutsu is so fast that not even Obito can activate his phasing(near instant jutsu) in time. This jutsu has always been portrayed to be instant whether in the manga or databook and it will never change
I didnt say it was a mistranslation, im saying that it can be possibly interpreted both ways.
Minato was their sensei & kakashi had just become a jounin, rin not having knowledge of FTG at that point would be like saying sakura had no knowledge of kakashi's sharingan throughout all of part 1. I doubt that minato hasnt used FTG for that entire time :|

Hisuzen can simply be referring to his FTG
Think about it, if Minato got to the battlefield using nothing but ftg, how would he have time to react to the Bijuu-Dama? He shouldn't have seen it since he would have instantly teleported right into the blast. It's just like how the raikage combines his lightning shroud and body flicker, Minato uses ftg in tandem with Body flicker.

Minato is recognized as the fastest person in the world.... Now if it was because of the FTG it would have made no sense.... Because he is teleporting, not moving fast. There would be no yellow flash what so ever.... Come on! Think of it.... Even obito can teleport from one part of the world to another.... Just like Minato... Doesn't that make him fast? Its just abt the speed that he possessed without FTG, he is that fast, and all just see is a mere flash....... So it must be the non FTG speed that brought him the title of "Yellow Flash".....
Now by common notion.... Teleporting means travelling through space and time.... And if anyone could do the teleporting it must have been same for every single person who can teleport.... There is no fast or slow teleportation..... Because time is still when it is done..... So Tobirama must have been talking abt Body Flicker not FTG.....

Shunshin and Hirashin are two different things. You don't see Tobirama complimenting Minato's superiority on Hirashin, he clearly said Shunshin. And Minato throwing his Hirashin kunai before showing up is not really a proof he reached there using Hirashin. You have to remember that Minato had no marking in the battlefield, he reached there using Shunshin, and from there he begun spreading his Hirashin kunai. Three of the kunai landed around the Juubi, for the formation of four to make use of them later, and one landed near Naruto, which had a panel right before his entrance.
Conclusion: Minato reached the battlefield using Shunshin. Only an ignorant reader would say otherwise.

but that scan can only mean 2 things. 1 - is a misstranslation, 2 - she didn't have knowledge about S/T.
and yeah, I agree it's a bit unlikely she didn't knew, but is not impossible.
& How on earth do you expect minato to accomplish all of that before tobirama could even arrive at the battlefield & before the juubi's tbb could make an impact. All of what you said would be impossible for someone to just use shunshin to deal with.
The kunai in the ocean had to be thrown first, & there's nothing disproving that he can throw his kunai in the midst of tobirama's hirashin, therefore he could've easily done what he did with FTG.
Why would he appear so early & only just teleport the tbb in time? Was he trying to be cool by showing up at the last possible second? He just made it

He was teleported by tobirama's hirashin, giving him time to react (godly reactions) by throwing kunai in the proper areas before arriving first...Why is that so hard to fathom? Its definitely easier than minato using shunshin to do all the aforementioned feats.
Thats the workings, not the name of the jutsu, this actually kinda proves that only minato would even know the proper name of his jutsu, how could tobirama have known what minato's FTG is called? (I know he has FTG slash but that still makes no difference as minato could've called it anything.) Calling it a form of "body flicker" makes more sense than calling it a form of "flying thunder god". Its just a generalization made by both rin & tobirama...
Hiraishin (Flying thunder god) is the name of the jutsu, youre assuming that tobirama knows what minato's teleportation jutsu is called...
Only an ignorant reader would assume that tobirama knows the name of minato's FTG, please gtfo with that logic

That's right, Minato used Shunshin to reach the battlefield, because he had no marking there. And your argument that Tobirama doesn't know Minato has Hirashin is poor. Minato used Hirashin right next to Tobirama when they were on top of the Hokage stone faces, and they were heading together to the battlefield. If Tobirama saw Minato teleporting, even though he had no marking at the battlefield, he wouldn't have complimented his Shunshin, which is an advanced form of foot speed. But the manga facts are there for those who are not ignorant, he complimented his Shunshin, so you can get that out of your head.

Hiraishin is the name of his flying thunder god, its not what everybody (including you) calls teleportation. Its minato's own personal name for his own personal jutsu. Now please explain to me how tobirama would know what minato's jutsu is called (I know he has a FTG slash but that still doesnt prove that tobirama knew what minato calls his own jutsu).
As I said you would be seriously ignorant to think tobirama knew that minato's teleportation was called Hiraishin (Flying thunder god), because he has no prior knowledge on what minato names his jutsus. So until you can prove that tobi knows what hiraishin is then you cant win this argument.
Btw that top part of your argument is irrelevant because you simply cant prove that tobirama knows what minato calls his "hiraishin".
We know nothing on the mechanics behind tobirama's tech yet we know it's inferior to the 4th's, and we know shunshin is high speed gained by using chakra to boost ones movements, yet you're willing to claim the 4th had to rely the 2nds inferior mode of transportation and yet he still beat them all to the battlefield...
It's kinda painfully obvious that the 4th arrived independently of the 2nd hokages ftg, your scenario makes absolutely no sense and honestly seems like you are grasping at straws, and occams razor favors our argument greatly, tobirama and hiruzen both complimented him on speed and in both the manga stream and manga panda translations, tobirama said body flicker, and minato got there a whole chapter ahead of everyone else, I highly doubt he earned the title of fastest ninja alive with his throwing arm.
You believe that tobirama has knowledge of "hiraishin" which is impossible. So no matter what my theory is after the fact, it doesnt change what we've been given. Unless you can somehow prove that tobirama knew what hiraishin is or what hiraishin does then you cant prove that minato didnt use it in that scenario...
