They are friends but people think they will fight over Naruto and the role of the heroine. lol I like both Itachi and Minato for their personalities, not their power (Naruto was always about emotions not fighting) and they are two decent and respectable men that would never sink as low as to battle each other for whatever fans are trying to prove. I know, right? Sakura knows Hinata loves Naruto but because of that stupid thing she did by confessing she loved him so he would stop trying to find Sasuke, it made people take it the wrong way. I guess many fans view the characters in the way they act in real life or the people around them do. Japanese anime/manga deal with teens that are far more mature than actual teens in our beloved North America, etc.
