I was talking about whether she lives up to the calibre of what could be considered a main character. Since she does not, and never will, my dislike of her remains justified and does not boil down to some psychological reasoning

Understanding her teammates well, taking risks for them, being a good medic and saving people is not caliber enough unless she has more panels killing people ?

Naruto has only one main character- Naruto with his chief rival as Sasuke. Sakura was never in the race. It's a shonnen manga. Female characters are never important in it beyond a limit no matter how much I hate it.

You can whine all you want but her usefulness is limited to being a support character in Naruto. Even if she had a bad ass KG- where would she fit in the story- she may have killed a few more villains in the manga and shine in a few chapters but how it would affect the story?

What is Mei? Tsunade's position as Hokage is questioned all the time. What do we know about Kushina's battle skills apart from her KG and devoted wife/mother status? Where the hell are Uchiha women?

If you want a strong female character watch Xena.

As for psychological reasoning- I wouldn't make that conclusion if I saw people hating her because Kishi didn't make her character more shiny and noticeable within reasonable limit.

But making several threads on this very topic routinely and posting hate for her over and over by some users on daily basis as if they live here to hate on an imaginary character- that's beyond normal and makes me conclude that it's personal and not limited to manga discussion.

She is one of the team. As far as female characters in Naruto go - she is it. Did you want Tsunade to be placed there? Ino? Tenten? Who else could be placed there?

Before you say Hinata, remember she doesn't connect the team Naruto is part of in any way to be up there between the two guys.

I wonder how much you guys are going to complain if you ever get to read The Vanity fair.. It has two heroines and practically no hero- none is good enough to take that place.

I'm all for Sakura being the main heroine. I just misunderstood you, thinking you where saying Sakura wasn't the main heroine. Don't even go there about Hinata.. ugh.

lol Are you purposely trying to twist my words and suit yourself or are you naive enough to be really missing the point?

She is the lead character for Naruto as a character which connects the team Kakashi. She is the one who is there consistently for all her teammates as long as they let her be. Beyond that Kishi didn't feel the need to detail her abilities. It's his story not mine. So fine by me.

I am not hung up with a personal idea of how a heroine should/must be. Not all stories demand a strong presence of male/female character. When I feel like reading strong female characters I would pick something else.
