[Question] When there's a Pirate King, are there Yonkou?

Was just wondering this. Say if Luffy or anyone else [ most likely Luffy becomes Pirate King]. What happens to the Yonkou? :dunno:

- Is there purpose to balance the new world , stripped away?
- Or do they still roam as freely and have titles such as i dunno " Princes?" "Underlings of the pirate king". ?
- Or does someone have to beat up the yonkou before becoming the new "pirate king"?

So, what do people think the answer is hmm?

There'd be no point, because they are the individuals who rival each other, equally rule the NW and are the closest entities of being the "Pirate King". So if there ever is a PK, the system of the 4 Emperor's are null & void due to fact that there is only one person who rules the NW. That's why it doesn't make sense when people say at EoS there's still gonna be 4 Emperor's if Luffy becomes the PK, because what'd be point?
However, if there is a PK, those former Emperor's can obviously still rival the PK but they just don't deserve that title.

What are the yonkou?

They are elite very strong pirate crew which roam the SHINSEKAI [ New World] . They are one of the important figures within the One Piece universe.

No I doubt it personally I think we'll have an arc where Luffy and Law work together to take down Kaido and then another arc where Luffy teams up with another supernova (possibly Law again) however I'm leaning more towards Kidd and they'll take down Big mom.

And finally I think Shanks and Teach will fight and unfortunately I think Teach will end up killing Shanks leaving Luffy to defeat Teach possibly in a race to find One Piece and in order to avenge Shanks ultimately surpassing Shanks and beating all 4 Yonkou.

But I don't think they will be any Yonkou when there's a Pirate king since the Pirate king is the person with the most freedom and I can't imagine there being much freedom if parts of the ocean (New World) is being controlled by Yonkou.

I don't think so, because they seem to be the candidates for PK and when there's one they either ally with him or just continue as it is but people don't consider them Yonko then...

I think it either:
the four Yonkou (with the Pirate king as one of them)
The king and the three Yonkou
or just the pirate king ; but to counter this there are also no warlords to maintain a balance of power

Rob Lucci said he'll beat Luffy at their final fight and kill the remaining SH's. Did that happen?
Ace said he'd make WB the King. Did that happen?
Zoro said he'll defeat Mihawk when he fought him at the Barratie. Did that happen?
And my favourite... Luffy made a promise which was he'll escape MF alongside Ace. And let me ask you; "did that happen?"

The Emperor's exist because neither of them are better than the other and because they stalemate eachother in the quest for OP. So why would they still exist if someone has acquired their goal/dream and have exceeded them? And what does being an Emperor have to do with being a pirate aside from the fact that pirates are the Emperor's? Since there are a huge amount pirates who aren't Emperor's. And remember, people don't become pirates to become Emperor's, they do so to become the King of Pirates. So... the system of the Emperor's won't exist if there is a Pirate King.

Well most people thought Ace dying was unlikely...but the hard truth is that Luffy won't likely give the strawhat back he might meet him before that but I can see Shanks and the redhair pirates dying it's saddening yes...but it's good for the plot as it gives both Luffy and Usopp a reason to fight like never before and if the strawhats beat the blackbeard pirates it will show that luffy's crew will have surpassed the redhair pirates.

Shanks and Teach have been foreshadowed to fight and really it makes sense for Teach to win since IMO he's the only real rival for Luffy for the One Piece.

The Emperors exist because they are superlative pirates whom have conquered mass amounts of territories in the New World. Newgate wasn't interested in One Piece, Kaido seems to only be obsessed with power over others given his affliation with Doflamingo, Big Mam seems to only look at her situation from a business perspective, and I'm pretty sure Shanks isn't interested in One Piece either since he most likely knows where it is but has only really shown interest in partying. The only one we know who is actively seeking to be Pirate King is Teach. So, if two out of the four of the Yonkou didn't even want to become Pirate King, why would it matter to any of them if there was a one? They would still go about living their lives the way they do. The only way I could see there being no need for Yonkou would be if the Pirate King conquered all of the New World and defeated them, seizing all of their territory from them as a result.

Keep in mind that the Yonkou aren't an organization or any structuralized faction since it's only a group of pirates deemed as such by the World Government. So, even if the title itself is revoked, there is still likely to be a group of powerful pirate crews who unofficially act as if they were Yonkou.

I'd say yes. The Pirate King wouldn't upset the balance of power because it's not a rank of power, but the title of the freest man on the sea.
