Where did Minato learned FTG and why nobody else can use it like him?

The title says all. What Minato has that is special enought to be able to use FTG alone? And why didn't he taught that to Kakashi??? Bad...bad teacher xD

Other people know FTG, they just need like 3-5 people to actually use it. :|

Tobirama seemingly invented it, and used a similar version on Izuna.

It's an S-ranked jutsu, so not many have the talent to use it like Minato does.

(Especially not fodders, which is why they need 3 people.)

That's the point. Why??I never heard of anything about his clan having any feature that alows him to use it as he had.
And I'm sure Kakashi would be enough competent to learn that technique.

I'm sure several ninja are competent enough, but that's the plot for you.

"Why didn't Sasuke copy A's lightning cloak?"

"Why didn't Kakashi copy Kakuzu's iron skin?"

Etc.

The author wants certain ninja abilities to remain relatively unique.

The 4th probably learned it from a ninja scroll since the 2nd was long dead. Also the 4th did teach it to a couple of shinobi. I forgot their names. It was on the Rock Lee special titled the final battle.

We don't really know for sure, but my guess is that he learned it around the same time that Kushina taught him various sealing techniques. During this time, he might have also researched Tobirama and his S/T jutsu by reading scrolls.

It seems that not everyone can use S/T jutsu effectively without any side-effects. Mabui's Teleportation jutsu, for instance, can potentially kill the person being teleported. I imagine that this would be a common risk of using any kind of S/T jutsu.
Regarding the Elite Bodyguard Unit being able to use FTG to a lesser degree, I believe that mastering it to the same level as Minato would be a fairly difficult task. When you think about it, FTG is similar to Reverse Summoning except the user is teleporting their own body. That alone must require skill and quicker reaction speeds than most shinobi are capable of.

According to my timeline, he was 17 during Kakashi gaiden, and it seems his FTG wasn't really well-known by everyone except from Kages, so i think it's probably something he came up with some time before Kakashi gaiden. I would say he created his own version of FTG when he was around 15 if we take into consideration that he had some S-rank missions before that help council members to recognise it

17? Wouldn't that make Minato a young jonin then? Kakashi was 5 when he became a genin and taught under Minato. Which makes Minato 10 when he became sensei if Kakashi was 13 in Gaiden and 14 if Kakashi was 9.
Overall it don't matter, timeline is messed up, but Minato did defeat the jonins when Kushina got captured, so we can assume he was low jonin level at the time?

I think you also need to be a sensor ninja as well because look at Tobirama just as good a sensor as Minato if not better and he had a form of ftg as well. So maybe you need to be able to move and know what your possibility of transporting too.

Using the ninja ID and timeline relation, Minato died at age 22. Bogard had a thread about this. Kakashi graduated at age 5 then joined Minato's team. In kakashi gaiden, he was 13 when he was promoted jonin so that makes Minato 21 at that time. So, Minato was Kakashi's teacher for 8-9 years. It's obvious that Minato was 13 when he had his team. I believe that he found FTG prior to becoming a jonin and databook states that he invented it. Why nobody can use FTG like him? Still a mystery.

Food for thought: If FTG relies on seals then why can't Kushina use it? If it is more of being a ninjutsu then why can't a sharingan copy it? If it's a Hiden Technique then why need 3 people to perform it? The only thing a sharingan can't copy is KKG but FTG can't be a KKG because Minato was able to teach it to his bodyguards...Damn Kishi....=D

I think Minato was 21 during Kakashi gaiden bro because I don't think Kakashi was promoted jonin at age 9. I believe he's 13 at that time..:)

i think FTG is linked to the special ability of handling chakra that naruto has shown(which was stated that minato had too)all explained in this thread

I agree with your timeline. Minato really died at 22. Only that i believe the event in Kakashi gaiden happened 5years before the Kyubi's attack, which means that during Kakashi gaiden, he was indeed 17 U_U
