Is Obito just crazy?

Obito is IMO, one of the worst anime/manga villains. He's a villain that doesn't even know what he wants, he barely has a motive for Project Tsuki no Me, PLUS, he knows exactly why Rin died. For the sake of the village. Now, he decides to completely ignore her sacrifice, and create a fake version of her, and destroy the village she sought to protect.

Obito's philosophy is even more f*cked up. He thinks real is fake... and fake... is real? Wtf? Zzz

I'd say that's what makes him an even better villain. The fact that he is so confused and hates reality but yet still is "sane" enough to help make the "ultimate" plan work out.

He is just too idealistic person, who can't cope with the world being cruel to him and crushing his dreams. To him true friends don't break promises, so Kakashi is fake, Rin can't be made into Junchuuriki and forced into killing herself, so she is fake too, etc...

Rin chose her death, it wasn't even kakashi's fault, I actually slightly liked his motive better when I just thought he didn't think to ask why kakashi stabbed rin

And also, he could've gotten oro or snake kabuto to edo her back to life, or even backstab madara and have Nagato revive her with rinne tensei

Exactly. Finally, someone with good working brain cells. I cannot believe people here are still perpetually stuck at RIN. Obito is delineating the concept of Subjective reality, versus the non-existing Objective reality. All our realities are self-constructed, hence we lack the necessary connection to perceive and truly feel another's plight.

Rin was just another victim of the Ninja System's cruel indoctrinated Rubbish to value human lives far less than a Village or nation. This ideal has officially turned it into a juggernaut to which countless lives are sacrificed so the majority can flourish. It's akin to olden times sacrificial rituals.

This system was only made worse by Hashirama's intervention. He started an arms-race amongst the nations by distributing less powerful Bijuus to some nations and more powerful to others to create this strategic discrepancy. This has resulted in countless wars, consistent vying for power, espionage and covert missions at the cost of many innocent lives. Rin, was just one of the many. This tussle for power claimed Pein's village, destroyed Uchiha clan and may others lost themselves to Villages-conducted terrorism; Rock, Mist, and Konoha's root division transgressions would be just a few fitting examples.

Obito wants to eradicate the system at the root level by creating an actual subjective reality. Most of you are far too under-developed and immature to even grasp the underlying mysticism and philosophical view-points of his statements. This is the first time I have realized that how childish, narrow-minded, and ridiculous this base is. Obito has truly turned around into this layered character with actual mystic connotations with a macabre twist.

I understand obito's reasons, but I don't condone the way he is trying to achieve peace. Honestly, in some ways I think Obito hates who he has become and I do believe Kakashi pegged everything about him right on the head on how obito is using naruto to reject what he has become. But, this is just my take on part of the chapter.
