Yeah, i think naruto is the only one most potent for the role in this current time. I think Kakashi is far from kage level and i believe there are many more possible ninja who have the potential to be a better hokage. Through out all the chapters and episodes in naruto, kakashi is depicted as a rather "above average" jounin, about the same level as asuma and gai. As depicted recently, he could not even fend of one the "Pein" whilst naruto defeated all of them.
Stamina and Chakra level - No one can beat naruto's stamina and Chakra capacity, so kakashi can just go home!
Intelligence - First thought would be Kakashi is much more intelligent then naruto, but i believe naruto is actually much for intelligent then kakashi in a different "dimension"; as in not in war experience, but in passion, love and even combat tactics. We can see that he can easily understand and befriend people and earn their trust which an essential kage element. And suprisingly he also possesses latent combat intelligence, when he fought against Pein, he could quickly understand his battle tactics and overcome them, giving naruto the title - no.1 most unexpected ninja.
Signature moves - Kakashi's signature move is his Chidori and M.Sharingan but his chakra limits his chidori uses to 3-4 times a day and when needed, 1 dimension hole M.Sharingan which will send him to the hospital for weeks, if not dead. making his skills very ineffecient. He is the only kage (if he becomes one) that can't fend of a tailed beast if it attacks konoha. Naruto however can use up to 6 rasenshuriken or more a day and each one is equivilent to many chidori!!
Summonings - Kakashi can only summon dogs.... if a tailed beast attacked konoha his dogs will die....However naruto can summon mulitple skyscraper dozen bladed frogs.
Strength and Agility - In sage mode, he possesses the strength of tsunade and sakura combined and the agility of gai and rock lee combined. In taijustu, naruto can beat kakashi into a pulp.
