This is "The Blood Mist Village" we are talking about. It was at a time a very twisted place to call home.

Mind you, this is the same village where the final graduation exam was to "kill your fellow teammates."

So who knows what they wanted with Rin's dead corpse. The Mist Village was corrupt at that time so...it couldn't have been anything short of disturbing.

well I think the bijuu would be reborn into a ball of chakra and in time it would grow back into a tailed beast or revived for use... ninja villages would want them badly.. Rin's body still had the beasts chakra inside of it so they wanted to keep her in their possession.. what happened to her body and what was the beast she had...?? she was burry was she??? Did Yagura have anything to do with this I wonder or any involvement?

If that doesn't matter because Kakashi already knew (he might have), then maybe the sealing tech that they used on her, if it's left behind, could be examined. Especially if the seal was "programmed" to let the beast out, kinda like a bomb, what would other villages do if they had that kind of technology?

It would have been a risky plan, once they attempt to carry it out, other villages would start using their beasts as weapons in the same way.

I think it could have been Danzo Root members in disguise and working with the mist.

Or madara had Zetsu inside Rin.. her eyes are really something though.. maybe the Mist watched through her eyes

and was like Zetsu she could record things.. Madara may have had something involved in that.

wait, where exactly does it say a Bijuu dies if it's host dies? that doesn't make sense to me... it's not like the beast requires it's host chakra or anything to live.. it just lives... sealed away... wouldn't it just stay sealed? and Kurama told Sasuke that if he killed Naruto, he'd "live to regret it" so whatever that may have ultimately meant, it sounded like a threat. why would he threaten him if it meant his own death? if he died, he couldn't do anything... i just assumed they wanted her body so they could get the 3 tails back rather than letting the 3 tails fall into enemy hands. it'd be much easier to transfer it from a corpse into someone else than it would be otherwise... am i just being stupid and i totally missed something? i don't remember anything about a Bijuu dying if it's Jinchuuriki dies...

also because of the Mist info she could have stored in her brain's memory... also their exist revival jutsu so if she was revived , the leaf or enemy could get information out of her.

The term reborn is implying death so yea, bijuus can die if their host die. Remember when the Raikage said he would kill Naruto and Bee to prevent Madara from getting the 8 and 9 tails? The beast will die too but only temporarily. It'll be reborn somewhere else to keep balance
