Naruto wasn't just handed the Kyuubi powers, he had a long struggle before he befriended Kurama. Naruto had to prove himself before Kurama became his friend.

There were lots of times where Naruto could've given up. Just because he is the child of prophecy doesn't mean his hardwork isn't creditable.

The problem is HOW he got stronger, Naruto was a story about a young underdog that made it by working hard. And now he doesn't present hardwork anymore.
