Kakashi never felt that Tobi's chakra was Obito's?

So Kakashi ran into Tobi many times before the big reveal and he never was under the suspicion that it could be Obito?

Kakashi clearly has the ability to distinguish people's chakra (he knew the big explosion was from Deidara immediately when they were searching for Sasuke).

How come Kakashi never sensed that Tobi was in fact Obito?

I guess when he was a kid he wasn't able to sense chakra as good?

kakashi had never seen obitos chakra with the sharingan before also obtios chakra at the time of his death would not be the same as of now, as he has senju dna mixed in and he will have more sinister chakra
kinda like how karin commented on sasukes chakra being cold so that shows chakra can change also can sharingan identify each individual chakra of a person i know it can see chakra in different colors

Haven't a few characters pointed out that the 'feel' of someone's chakra can change? For example, Karin said that Sasuke's chakra felt darker at the kage summit (and that was before he went completely insane), and Sakura could barely recognize Sasuke's chakra, and even doubted if it was really him.

He has Hashirama's cells/senju DNA! That's the excuse Kishi uses for everything else, so why not this? It's like using plaster to fill in all the holes you come across in a wall; you apply enough to cover them nicely from the front, but the repair is only superficial. There's a hole still left inside where the plaster couldn't reach.

Even if Kakashi can't sense Obito's chakra he could identify him by smell. I don't find any reason why Kakashi didn't able to note that Tobi is Obito.

Not to mention that all of a sudden a guy shows up who has the Sharingan eye on the opposite side of Kakashi's eye... and he wasn't the least bit suspicious? lol.

And i'm sure every time Obito used Kamui, Kakashi must've seen that his MS was the same pattern as his.

Just a plot hole I suppose.

not all shinobis can sense chakra and who it is from.Actually these shinobi are very rare(karin,tobirama....)kakashi can with his sharingan but he hasnt seen obito`s chakra with his sharingan before so...

Just as people change their chakra change. Like when Sasuke is turning evil ans Karin says multiple things about his chakra changing. Im sure by the time Kakashi saw him again his chakra was completely different.

When obito was alive, kakashi was not having the sharingan to remember his chakra. So he cannot possibly sense (will not even have any suspicion) that tobi is obito.

He recognized deidara's chakra because he encountered him before during gaara rescue arc.

I think it was hinted at when Obito was trolling the Konoha Shinobi, at the end of the chapter they make direct eye contact, it's a bit more apparent in the anime. As to why Kakashi was unable to tell? Perhaps Obito being fused with Zetsu creates a signature chakra of its own, and I don't think it would be anywhere near as exciting if Kakashi just figured it out.
