Hey guys after looking at older pages in the manga I have come to realize that Kishi never intended for Amaterasu to be so powerful. To fix this issue I believe Kishi designed "Blaze release" for sasuke so Black flames can still be used but not as a "Appear where the user is looking" type jutsu. I think this is mainly due to EMS removing the strain of using Amaterasu and making it spammable
I know most people will probably say that Amaterasu is overrated and its not OP but if you really look at what the technique does it truly is Overpowered.
Also for the people that say Sasuke avoided it against Itachi I will have to say that Itachi did not plan on killing Sasuke and I believe Itachi used it continuously to give his brother a chance by draining his own chakra.
My Proof:
If you look at the history of Amaterasu the only time it has been used is in Dire situations
1st:
Itachi escaping Jiraiya Trap (Awesome Jutsu) btw
From this page it was safe to assume that Amaterasu was intended as a last resort jutsu more than anything else.
I honestly believe Amaterasu causes more strain than Susanoo.
2nd: Itachi vs Sasuke:
In this fight Itachi uses Amaterasu carelessly (which I believe is on purpose) but i believe he didn't intend on killing sasuke or actually hitting him with amaterasu.
3rd: Hachibi vs Sasuke:
In this fight amaterasu was used as a last resort but Kishi brought in the idea that Sasuke could control and extinguish the black flames of amaterasu. I also believe he realized how powerful amaterasu was and began to come up with a way to make Amaterasu still useful but not as over powered by removing the spontaneous aspect of it.
Raikage vs Sasuke
This is the fight where Kishi finally decides to fully implement blaze release as a means to keep Amaterasu but without the Overpowered properties of spontaneously showing by site.
Facts to back up my claim that Blaze release is Fixed Amaterasu:
Every Fight Sasuke been in he never used Amaterasu unless it was against someone that could counter it.
Fights Amaterasu was used:
sasuke vs Raikage: Raikage Speed can counter
Sasuke vs Gaara: Ultimate Defense Sand
Danzo vs Sasuke: Inzanagi
Fights Amaterasu should have been used to kill enemy but wasn't used
Sasuke vs Kakashi: Sasuke used Susanoo instead of Amaterasu "Plot no Jutsu"
Sasuke vs Kabuto: Couldnt kill Kabuto due to "Plot no Jutsu"
Sasuke vs Mei: Easily could have Amaterasu her before she trapped him
Why kishi Designed Blaze release?
1st: I believe Kishi designed blaze release as a means to keep Sasuke on the path of "Perfecting 1 of the three great MS techniques"
Itachi - Tsukyomi
Madara - Susanoo
Sasuke - Amaterasu
2nd: I believe Kishi knew Amaterasu would become spammable once a user had the EMS so he decided to use Blaze release for Sasuke and completely remove Amaterasu so EMS users would not become unbeatable due to Amaterasu with no draw backs
3rd: Blaze release is cooler than Amaterasu since the flames can be manipulated and can be used for offense or defense.
Lastly The Pros and Cons of Replacing Amaterasu with Blaze release
Pros:
Black flames used as Defense and Offense
Can be shot at enemies by using Susanoo or Sasuke casting it himself
FANS will like Blaze a lot better than Amaterasu
Fights with Blaze release will be better to watch than Amaterasu
Cool weapons and enhancements with Blaze release
Every person sasuke fights now will have Black flames rather than people who can avoid them
Cons:
No spontaneous instant flames
Plot no Jutsu wont affect who the technique is used against since Amaterasu was only used against people who can counter it.
