He only needs to hit Kakuzu not his masks.

Kakashi can't Kamui at the beginning of the fight, he has to take time to build up chakra. He has never used Kamui at the beginning of any fight. It's actually a pretty even match, Kakashi would have a hard time focusing on Kakuzu if he's getting blasted from multiple angles.

They can't use their elemental jutsu without Kakuzu running his chakra through them. They're worthless without Kakuzu.

How do you know he does not simply just insert a certain ammount of chakra in them in the while there in him in the beginning? ... How could he possible run his chakra through them there is nothing connecting then when they are out of the body

Not my question to answer. The manga clearly said that he runs his own chakra through the masks to use elemental jutsu.

Not to mention he made a hand sign here to make the mask use an elemental jutsu.

Manga says he runs his own charka through his mask to access other chakra nature it never said it can't fight on its own. Otherwise seperating it from the ninja war would of been irrelevant and pointless. Also Kakuzu weave no hand signs then Wind and Fire Mask Joint.

If his chakra isn't running through the hearts he can't access the natures thus he can't use the elemental jutsu. If they could fight on their own this would be completely unnecessary.

I know they can enter his body and leave without having to make handsigns but that doesn't mean they can use elemental jutsu without Kakuzu's input.

Actually look at the fire behind Kakuzu the justu was still there on the top left panel then the last panel you see smoke. Also the manga doesnt show him weaving signs unless its an actually jutsu (Which he names). When he is not they just spray elemental release (As you see when Wind+Fire merged.

It requires his input to use the jutsu. That doesn't mean that he needs to consistently put his input in to keep the attack going.

Pretty sure they only showed him weaving hand signs once when used his Fuuton.

This is honestly debatable of weather or not he can or cannot so bear with my points.

But shouldn't have done it when he had Fire and Wind Mask left inside of him? that doesnt make an sense if he needs signs to do a jutsu that has no name of the attack and different scale too. Like here:
