'' even Jiraiya chan ''

Sure. That suggests Jiraiya was a better Sage than Minato ( assuming Minato was one ).

I never stated differently. No chance in hell Minato did what Jiraiya could not.

not sure Minato has enough chakra to into Sage Mode just because he summoned Bunta, there are many characters in the manga who can summon animals as big or bigger than Bunta.

A young Naruto, Uzumaki and all that, couldn't summon Bunta without Kyuubi chakra on 2 different occasions.

You also have to take into account that Minato used a ton of costly techniques that night. His chakra is through the roof.

It was stated my Paa himself that only certain people can use sage mode.. (People with extremely high chakra reserves).

I would like to believe that he has it, however it's impossible to say.

This page foils your whole theory.

Not really.

Hiruzen told everyone not to tell Naruto that Minato is his dad. Jiraiya could've simply told the toads. Note that in Part 1 Gamabunta doesn't make a link between Naruto and Minato even though they look exactly the same.

As I said, everything in this manga happens for a reason. Why did Naruto have that cloak, which has the same pattern as Minato?

By Sir Derp Obito's theory, The Sage was Aizen Uzumaki, user of a toad contract. That means Jiraiya, Naruto and the Sage - representing 3 of the 4 toad contract users ( Sir Derp Obito also suggested the great Toad Sage was Rikudou's summon ) were all Sages. It only makes sense for the fourth to be.

The toads telling Naruto that the 4th Hokage trained under them to get Sage Mode isn't going to reveal that he's Naruto's father. Naruto has no reason to be suspicious when he knows that the 4th Hokage trained under Jiraiya.

Naruto having that cloak could mean a number of things, it meaning Minato could have SM despite Fukasaku's statement is far too vague.

First of all, nothing is confirmed so for now there are only 3 people with Toad Contracts. Not 4. Second of all, there is no proof that Rikudou knew Sage Mode. He was called Sage of the Six Paths due to his Rinnegan and the Juubi, not because he had Sage Mode.

Too many similarities for my taste. Naruto should've started asking questions the moment he learned Minato was Jiraiya's student and taught him the rasengan. If he knew Minato also had a toad contract...

First of all, nothing is confirmed so for now there are only 3 people with Toad Contracts. Not 4.

In the original showing of the Toad Contract, instead of Minato Namikaze it was written '' Aizen Uzumaki '', as seen in Sir Derp's thread.

That was later changed to Minato, but as he implied, it may have been to preserve Rikudou's identity.

"This is for you (Naruto) and Jiraiya only. Minato would not have the body to become a Sage.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Let the flaming commence.

However, I honestly believe that Minato -NEEDS- to have more than Rasengan and FTG. I mean, Rasengan is a fine jutsu but it is nowhere near the power scaling of the current Manga.

As for FTG, it has its weaknesses. I want to believe Minato had more than 2 jutsus.

So, let's analyse the facts.

The toads knew Minato. Jiraiya taught him the Summoning Jutsu and it was probably Jiraiya that gave him the Toad Contract.

Minato, at some point in his life, trained Jiraiya on how to use the Rasengan. Why would Jiraiya not teach Minato how to use Sage Mode?

Minato is also a Sealing expert. Sealing jutsus require a -TON- of chakra control ( he single handedly kept Kurama inside Kushina during Naruto's birth ) so the balancing nature chakra with your own chakra part shouldn't be so hard for him, seeing as how he has perfect chakra control.

The stamina part... Minato has shown to have both incredible durability and stamina. In the night he fought Tobi he used FTG several times, teleported a Bijuudama, tagged Obito, Rasenganed Obito, used Contract Seal on Obito, summoned Gamabunta, teleported Kurama, used RDS and sealed Kurama inside him, got impaled by Kurama and used the Eight Trigrams Seal which is made of two four symbol seals.

Let's not forget Base Naruto could not summon Bunta on his own. He needed Kyuubi chakra. Minato did this very easily and he does not have the Sage's body. ( unless we get trolled and Minato is Tobirama's lost grandson or something. ew. )

I really believe Minato has a chakra/durability that could allow him to use Sage Mode.

As a last argument I will bring this picture into the fray:

Look at the robe's fire pattern and the sleeve length.

Does it not remind you of this?

I believe that cloak was left by Minato at Mount Myoboku ages ago, when he was training with the toads. As to why he left it there and Naruto took it - no clue. But it is certain toads wouldn't have a random Naruto-sized cloak in their village and I can't see Naruto sowing his own cloak.

As such, I believe that red cloak was Minato's.

I'm 99% sure he was an imperfect toad sage but haters will cry 'NO!' because they know that'd make him even more top tier.
And no, the fact that he didn't use it on tobito means nothing. He had no time to do the whole stay still shit.

OT: As to your last point. A reason he could have left that cloak behind is simply because he didn't need it anymore. Unlike that old cloak, his new one had '4th hokage' printed on the back. It's just possible he had a new one made and left the old one behind :/

it was said in the manga that naruto surpassed his predecessors and image of minato and jiraiya was shown.
So either minato doesn't have SM or if he have it than it is not perfected and inferior to naruto's SM .

Nice theory, OP.

I do believe Minato's Chakra Reserves are big, but it's not as big as Naruto, Kushina and Jiraiya. I don't believe Minato has mastered Sage Mode. You could be right though, Kishimoto has PHD in trolling half the world lol.

Also Naruto inherited Kushina's massive chakra reserve, battle-smarts and fighting style.

I hope... I truly ****ing hope... That you're wrong about this one.

It would be so terrible writing of Kishi if Minato had Sage Mode when he didn't even try to use it in a fight for his life against Obito and Kurama. Minato himself admitted that Obito was an incredibly powerful shinobi and maybe even a greater threat than the Nine-Tails and honestly the fight could have gone both ways. If Minato really had a trick like that up his sleeve he would have used it.

And then there's Kurama. He literally used a suicide attack against it, just to weaken it enough for him to seal it!! If he really had Sage Mode it would be ridicolously stupid to not try that first. And we all know Minato isn't that stupid, so the only logical explanation on that is if he had a very bad depression and wanted to die... But seriously... I don't see that happening.

So the conclusion is that if Minato really had Sage Mode, it would be a huge failure from Kishi. He really needs to come with a ridicolously good explanation if he wants Minato to have Sage Mode.

Thing is, Obito proved he could follow Minato anywhere. It was a battle of speed, so Minato didn't have the time to use it. Plus, Sage Mode wouldn't have helped him since FTG offers superior speed.

The only reason I think he -NEEDS- sagemode is because Minato has next to no firepower. His FTG is great yeah, but how will he fight Madara?

He needs something to become competent against him and with the provided arguments, I think that something is Sage Mode.

He might be, but i don't really want him to be sage.
Don't get me wrong i like Minato, but his kit is good as it's now.
And he is in my top 10.
It takes time to go in sage mode, but Minato's style is different, he usually ends all of his fights in 5 min or even faster.

Completely agreed. This is why he never showed it. All of his fights were 1 on 1 duels in which he had to win by speed.

However, he can definitely activate it now.

I'd even go as far as say Sage Mode lasts indefinitely in Edo Form since infinite chakra and no exhaustion. This is what I think would put him on a decent ground against madara.

As it stands, Minato has no chance against Madara and bringing back the 4 Hokages means nothing if they get owned.

Jiraiya training the Fourth Hokage and having a Toad Contract does not, in any equal Minato being related to Naruto in the slightest. It doesn't even imply that. Same thing with Minato being Jiraiya's student and Minato teaching him Rasengan. Do you honestly think Naruto is going to randomly ask questions relating to his parents? Obviously not. That only proves that Jiraiya and Minato knew each other. Nothing more nothing less.

Minato doesn't have Sage Mode.

Please no sage mode for minato, he is fine the way he is, although i would love to see him getting a long battle and show us more of his speed/reaction time, Intelligence and sealing technnics.

I really want to see him using the barrier technique and other sealing jutsu's!

Doesn't explain why he didn't try it on Kurama, and FTG isn't speed it's space-time jutsu. Sage Mode would have been a great help as he would be much faster than Tobi, possibly so fast than Tobi wouldn't even have time to react with Kamui.

Sage Mode Minato would basicly be pretty ridicolous as base Minato is already extremely fast. The only one who would stand a chance of matching his speed is Bijuu Mode Naruto and even that seems unlikely...

I understand what you're saying about Minato not really having a lot of firepower, but that's basicly the only thing that keeps him from beeing god-like. With that much speed, if he actually had jutsus like Sage Mode Naruto, he would simply be too powerful...
