How did Itachi Gain Eye Upgrades?

When sasuke spoke with the previous Hokage, Tobirama said that they gain MS and EMS maybe other through hate. Itachi seemed relaxed at most and to my understanding had no hate. I understand Shushi died but I thought the hate explination ruled out the friend dieing thing due to hate comming from friend dieing so huh?

Itachi tried to force Shisui to have *** with him, but when Shisui said "no"....Itachi became mentally unstable and killed him....by losing his lover....Itachi was able to unlock Tsukuyomi so he wouldn't go throw the same thing as he did with Shisui and that's how he was able to unlock the MS.

I thought about that to, but Danzo tried to kill Shisui and Itachi still served Danzos orders. So I was confused on if he had hate cause hate has to be directed towards someone and the only logical person who Itachi could hate is Danzo. So If he did why would he obey his orders? Although I remember Danzo giving him that messed up dissicion between his clain or brother...hmmmm idk
