Why? Because Hidan does have immortality but his attacks are predictable and lacks variety, he just uses a scythe.

Even if he does draw-out your blood, its nothing to worry about since he has to stay inside the circle to link you. You can use long distance attack to errase the drawing or break it such as using suiton to erase the blood drawing or use earth style to break the ground and erase the drawing.
All you have to do to defeat him remove his limbs and he can't do any thing else besides talk.

Jiraiya has too suiton and strong techs to break the blood drawing. Also he can hold him down from a long distance just by merely using his hair, just like what he did with pain.

To the subject: SM Jiraiya will probably damage Hidan's body too much for him to recover.. So SM Jiraiya > Hidan. But if we're talking about Base Jiraiya then Hidan >>> Base Jiraiya, people here are way underestimating Hidan.. :O

He wil attack from the distance with this flame attacks and hair first.
He will definitely figure out that Hidan is immortal and will find a way to incapacitate him.
He might also just capture hidan and keep him inside the belly of the great giant frog until he figure out what to do with him.

His hair and his fire is long distance. He also has suiton from the frogs to shoot out water from long distance. Not to mention giant frog summonings. He doesnt even need to get close to hidan to defeat or incapacitate him.

I don't think that Jiraiya is smarter than Shikamaru and even after Shikamaru knew that Hidan was immortal, Asuma fought him in a Taijutsu battle to cut off his head so Jiraiya would do the same. However they did not know about his ritual, Shikamaru manged understand Hidan's abillities after Asuma was already under the Ritual's curse.

BTW, Hidan can tank Jiraiya's Ninjutsu.

His hair is enough to catch hidan. He can also summon gamabunta to stomp on hidan so he cant move and he can take out his limbs. One of the frogs could also use strong suiton to destroy the drawing or breaks hidans body. Finally the frogs has genjutsu, and once he is caught he would be done for. Finally with sage mode he can prevent any of hidans attack since he due to enhanced sense.
Also you think Jiraiya would wait for hidan to draw a circle ritual on the ground or keep it lying there? Not to mention if He could even draw Jiraiyas blood.

There's just so many possible way to defeat hidan.

Jiraya only takes this because of the boss toads ... And whats this about Rasengan .destroying the body? .. .? It leaves a spiral shaped wound in the chest .. hidan could easily survive it ... And jiraya cant use Oil+Fire without ma and pa cant he ?
