*Sai sits and awaits his sensei, a soft breeze blowing around him. strong enough to be pleasant and light enough to not blow away the scroll he had opened upon the ground. Reaching forward he starts to examine his materials, making sure there was no damaged or low quality items.*

Hi there ^_^

What can you tell me about ink ninjutsu? Who uses it? Strengths or weaknesses? Why would you like to use it? How can you use it in battle?

Hi there ^_^

What can you tell me about ink ninjutsu? Who uses it? Strengths or weaknesses? Why would you like to use it? How can you use it in battle?
*Sai looks at the man riding towards him on a tiger. The sight almost looks comical and any normal person would have probably burst out laughing, but not Sai. His training in the ROOT had made him almost emotionless, but not completely.

Hearing the man ask the question Sai swallows and breathes calmly*

"Ink Ninjutsu is a special element that in the series of Naruto Shippuden was exclusive to only Sai until it was shown that Kirabi could produce his own ink as a passive ability of being the Jinchuuriki of Gyūki, The Eight Tailed Giant Ox.

Sai's variant of Ink allowed him to use his skills as an artist to create 'live' creatures from the drawings he produced to assist him in varies tasks. For example, a common use of his Super Beast Imitating Drawing Technique was to create birds that had the ability to carry him. The style works by first moulding ones chakra into the ink that they use to create the drawing, and then animating the drawing through chakra control to literally lift the drawing from its medium (aka scroll) to produce a life sized, 3D version of their drawing. Sai has shown that he can create multiple animals for different purposes. Mice to scout, snakes to bind, bird to fly on, lions to attack, even the ability to draw his own explosive tags that have the same effect as the originals, which he can attach to his other drawings (birds). During the arc in which Sai was introduced, he used his ink to create a tanglible clone that he used to approach Orochimaru. This style is also able to seal people within a scroll by being drawn in by the drawing (which is still attached within the scroll.)

As for weaknesses and strengths, i am unsure to this aspect. As it is a liquid, fire would be able to evaporate if the rank was high enough, earth attacks would be able to pierce the creations easily as it is still just a fluid, wind would be able to disrupt the molecules within the ink and destroy it, water would be able to be added into the ink to dilute it and make it useless, as it is a liquid it would most likely act as a conductor to electrical charges. Though strengths of this style would revolve around its ability to be used in variety of different situations and in many ways that could infact counter its weaknesses. with the help of Fuuin jutsu you could create your own elemental sealing jutsu that can be used to absorb incoming attacks, which in turn can be incorperated into the drawing itself, giving it that added protection.

My reason for learning this style is simple. Just like Sai, I have a love of drawing, I was second in my class in yr 12 visual art (out of 2 people xd ), I love how it can be used in a variety of different ways and also its uniqueness as not many people are interested in Ink. It is also my goal to have a custom bio that has the ability to use ink .

Splendid, however I only have a few things to pick out. First of all, Sai's ink is not really classified as an element, nor is it the same as Kirabi's own produced ink. Sai's ink can be see as special type of ninjutsu, allowing the user (as you already stated) to infuse their chakra into the ink, allowing them to manipulate it. As far as strength and weakness goes, Sai's ink creations can be classified as regular raw chakra creations, as in equal in strength. The main difference is that the chakra is being "coated" by the ink as a medium for creation.

As far as your goal in obtaining the custom ink bio, I wish you luck.^^ It is very fun having one. I just recently dropped my custom ink user a little while ago. However I've had it since day one (after dropping Sai of course, which was my very first biography).

Okay.. let's move on shall we? (If you have any questions feel free to ask them at any time.)

Okay, now I'd like you to open a common ninja scroll as you will then use your pencil to draw multiple pictures of your own desire. I want you to describe in great detail what you are drawing and the most important parts of said drawing. (Look for some drawings online, post the picture and describe as stated above. Please be sure to give me a least three different examples and how you would use each drawing in battle.)

I do have a question in regards to custom Ink bios. Could I for example put ink on an akimichi bio? as long as it is custom? and can they have special abilities like sound or EIG? So I'm basically asking if there can be either Akimichi + SM + Ink on the same bio or Ink + EIG. Also do you think my idea's on how to counter attacks by incorporating seals within the drawings themselves is a good idea?

*i grab from my satchel a blank scroll and a pencil, and carefully think about what I wish to draw, also taking in consideration why I would choose it or what could it do to assist me. Looking over to a nearby tree I watch as the leaves fall within the breeze, fluttering to the ground. Suddenly I see something that sparks my creative nature and I begin to draw the first of my 3 drawings.

You must be registered for see images

The drawing I had began as my first was a wasp. Wasp were small and agile insects that are quite capable of taking a hit. I focus on two aspects of this particular drawing, the first being the wings. Instead of having two wings, I add an extra pair, this will allow the wasp to have better speed and manueverabilty,. The second part is the stinger. The signature part of the insect, the stinger itself is barbed so that when it pierces the skin, the hooks keep it from leaving the body.

As I finish the drawing, I try and find something else to inspire me, this time I look at one of my favourite elements. Earth. scanning the scenery I can see that the field has many small mounds of dirt spread out over the entire field, as my eyes land on a single pile i notice that there is dirt being flung upwards onto the mound, with that I get the inspiration for my second drawing.

*I'd decided to draw a mole. Moles are blind but they make up for it by having their other senses incredibly powerful, which is due to the fact that they are blind. I focus on giving this drawing sharp, powerful claws on its front and hind legs. This would allow it to be able to dig tunnels underground at rapid speed.

Choosing his third drawing was proving difficult, looking around he couldnt quite think of anything that he could use, he looks back over to the tree where he got the idea for the wasp, eyeing the very wasp that started it all, next thing I know, a flicker happens and the wasp is gone, within the depths of a Peregrine Falcon, immediately I began drawing my third drawing.

You must be registered for see images

Peregrine falcons are considered the fastest birds to be able to fly in the air. They are small and nimble, with great eye sight and instinct. I mainly focus on the talons and wings, making them as large as I can without effecting the nimbleness and making the talons powerful.

Upon completion of my 3 drawings, I stand up and move over to you with scroll in hand, passing it to you I begin explaining my reasons for each of the drawings.

"To begin with, the wasp. I chose the wasp mainly for its small anatomy and its ability to be used for information gathering. It is common enough to be disregarded by opponents without the ability to sense chakra, and as such are able to move in quickly and close to the target. The stinger itself could be coated in a poison that incapacitates the opponent. The mole I chose because of its ability to sense and dig. With its ability to dig, I can get it to dig underneath the opponent without them knowing and then attack them from underneath by using the tunnel as a pathway, for example, a fire jutsu, follows the tunnel which ends directly underneath the opponent and the fire is compressed enough to have explosive repercussions that will happen underneath the opponent. My third drawing is a Peregrine falcon, which I chose because of its speed and instinct. I can basically make it use its speed to kamikaze into the opponent from their blind spot to deal damage to them.

Of course as an additional strategy, incorporate explosive tags to make it even more deadly."

Excellent, that was exactly what I wanted to see. Thank you ^_^
The only thing that I would like to point out is that, you are unable to dip the Wasp's stinger in poison unless you have special medical training and access to poison release. That or a puppet biography, however the combination of puppets and ink are impossible under the same biography.

OOC: The last time Custom Ink bios were available, they were allowed to be used with custom clan biographies, though not with clans from the manga aside from sensory with special permission. Also, you are unable to stack it up with sound or rain, as it would take that special place. Though, no rules for custom ink biographies exist so it would be entirely up to Cali at this point in time. Back when I was a moderator, the rules above applied but they no longer do.

Very good, now I want you to draw some very detailed landscapes and animals at a faster pace.(Landscapes are not used in ink ninjutsu this is to better yourself in drawing detail.)

That is completely understandable. I never really intended on wanting Sound and Ink on the same bio, as it is common sense that it would replace it. I am hoping that if I do have a chance to have a custom Ink user that it will be allowed on an Akimichi bio, maybe a condition would be that the Akimichi clan Techniques and the Ink Ninjutsu could not be used on the same turn. I shall have to investigate this, thank you :)

And in regards to the below, another question pops into mind. Is it actually possible to use Ink ninjutsu to alter terrain or create an entirely new landscape?

Yes Sensei!

*Sai first closes his eyes to picture a scenery he would like to create, a paradise that is his own. Due to his training in root, Sai finds this difficult however he thinks back on all he has learnt and the bonds he has formed. Grunting slightly out of strain he takes a different approach. Thinking of a variety of different animals he would like to show, he can then incorporate different environments to suit each of the animals he has selected.

Moving his hand, he starts with a wide field, located in the foreground of the drawing. Starting with a single line that arcs and curves from the left hand side to the right. Using this line as a basis, he imagines what he can place in the field, adding trees on the right hand side as a forest, each of varying heights and thickness. He then adds a herd of deer at the edge of the forest, grazing on the grass. moving to the left hand side of the drawing, he decides to add a lake, drawing a wavy line from the base of the picture, connecting it with the line he had drawn as the boundary of the field.

The wavy line represents the 'shore; of the lake, on this line he adds small bunches of flora; ie bushes and flowers. From within the lake he draws three triangular shapes, with curved edges as dorsal fins for dolphins. Then adding to the grace of these he draws two more dolphin that are mid-air, making it like they have leapt from the water to dance with one another. Feeling like this completes the foreground of the image, he moves into the background, drawing small mountains, using 2 lines for each, one to show each face of the mountains. From here he adds circles in the sky, carefully changing them with curving lines to represent clouds. Adding depths to the drawing, he draws them at different sizes, displaying the distance they are from each other, making them 'weave' in and out of the mountain tops.

To complete the drawing he draws nine small lines within the sky, in a 'V' formation. Using these as foundations, he carefully adds thick to thin lines to them, representing wings. Raising his hand from the drawing, he quickly scans over it to see if he is able to add anything else, then thinking that it can be easy to add to many elements to the picture and concludes that what he has done should be enough.

Flawless, very well executed once again ^_^
As far as your question is concerned; No we aren't able to change the landscape or create one a completely new one. However there is room for customs regarding that subject. For example drawing trees, plants, flytrap plants, etc etc.

Now that you've gotten a bit accustomed into drawing somewhat faster, its time to step it up. I want you to draw a very detailed animal of your choosing as I throw a barrage of shuriken your way. The goal of this exercise is to pull out your scroll and start drawing the animal as you maneuver around the shuriken. I will only be throwing a few at a time because you currently can not apply chakra to your creations to protect yourself, and thus giving you an opening for defense. Please be sure to describe exactly how you are defending and avoiding I do not want.. "As the shuriken come my way I move out of the way" I would like specific body movement descriptions along with any other way you can think of to defend. ^_^

Mathias reaches into his pouch as he grabs a hold of three shuriken with either hand. He then swipes both hands out in front of him as he releases all shuriken simultaneously towards you. The first set of three are aimed roughly around your chest area, having one head directly towards you while the other two head from either side should you move to avoid. The other set of three are roughly thrown in the same manner however below your knees.

*Sai grabs his scroll and begins to draw his mole, managing to draw the initial outline of the body just before the shuriken are thrown. Looking up briefly to analyse the trajectory of each of them, he deduces that his best option would be to 'defy gravity'. Shifting his stance to wide and low he calculates the distance of the shuriken as he continues on his drawing, working on the snout. Before the shuriken are about to reach him, he quickly lifts his right leg off the ground bringing it close to his left shin and begins to fall to his right. As he nearly reaches a horizontal angle he twists his upper body rapidly and lifts his left leg off the ground, using the gap between the the top and bottom shuriken as his means of evasion. Since his rotation speed was not that great, he is able to land on his right leg and rotate around to an upright position, finishing the drawing off as he halts movement.*

OOC: Splendid as always ^_^. Also.. apologizes for the long delay. I wasn't expecting my new job to take out so much out of my free time and such. Add motocross during the weekends and it almost became impossible to log in xD

Now its time to move onto ink infusing.

(Sumi Bunshin) - Ink Clone
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:N/A
Description:A clone made of ink that takes a physical form. This clone can use ink jutsu (Beast Imitation etc...).
I want you focus your chakra inside of your ink jar, successfully infusing it. You will then proceed to dip your brush into the chakra infused ink as you then continue to draw a miniature version of yourself on the scroll. Once the drawing is completely, I want you to perform a single hand seal as you manipulate the chakra infused ink, causing the ink to expand outwards, taking physical shape. This is classified as an ink clone, allowing it to use other ink techniques.
